  • Patent number: 10413728
Abstract: Presented herein are techniques for performing automated Electrocochleography (ECoG) testing using ambient sound signals received by a hearing prosthesis during normal operation (i.e., outside of a clinical setting). In particular, the hearing prosthesis analyzes ambient sound signals to identify portions of the sound signals that are conducive/suitable to the performance of an ECoG measurement (i.e., an ECoG measurement structure). When an ECoG measurement structure is identified, the hearing prosthesis itself performs an ECoG measurement using one or more implanted electrodes.

  • Publication number: 20190239007
Abstract: An external portion of an auditory prosthesis includes an external magnet that interacts with an implantable magnet to hold the external portion against the skin. Magnetic force generated by the stray field of these magnets can disturb the operation of a vibrating element of the auditory prosthesis. The technologies described herein utilize additional magnets disposed within portions of the auditory prosthesis to redirect the magnetic flux, which allows the vibrating element to be disposed more closely to the magnets, reducing the overall height profile of the prosthesis.

  • Publication number: 20190235504
Abstract: An autonomous control system of a self-driving semi-truck can monitor a dynamic orientation of a cargo trailer in relation to a tractor of the semi-trailer truck. Based on the dynamic orientation of the cargo trailer, the control system can dynamically generate a coordinate transform between a first reference frame of a first set of sensors mounted to the tractor, and a second reference frame of a second set of sensors mounted to the cargo trailer, and execute the dynamically generated coordinate transform on sensor data from the second set of sensors to generate a fused sensor view of a surrounding environment of the self-driving semi-truck.

  • Patent number: 10271147
Abstract: Presented herein are techniques for detecting sensory outcome issues through an analysis of data representing the direction of incidence/arrival of a sensory input and inertial data representing movement of the recipient's head following detection of the sensory input. By correlating recipient head movement (including lack of movement) with the arrival direction of the sensory input, a sensory prosthesis system can determine whether or not the recipient acted as expected and, if not, whether a sensory outcome problem is present.
