Abstract: A rainwater collection apparatus is formed with an outer sleeve member that is adapted to connect with upper and lower downspout portions, and with an internal colander that is operable to collect and filter the rainwater flowing through the upper downspout portion. The colander has an upper flanged edge that removes water flowing along the inside surface of the downspout, a filter area including a plurality of apertures for the passage of rainwater into a catch basin, and a support flange that rests on a base ledge formed on the outer sleeve to define the catch basin. A discharge spout drains the collected rainwater from the catch basin to a remote storage container. An internal opening in the colander allows the passage of debris and the overflow of rainwater from the catch basin through apertures in the colander for discharge through the lower downspout portion.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described for embodiments of a mobile virtualization platform (MVP) where in some aspects a wireless mobile device including multiple virtual machines (VMs) may receive data from a remote content provider and process/execute the data using an appropriate virtual machine. In some examples, the MVP may facilitate communication between and coordination among different virtual machines in the MVP, such as to facilitate optimization of data processing/execution.

The method also includes distinguishing treatment of the phone call from the call source based on the number of received indications.

Abstract: A local network gateway may exchange signaling data for a voice communication session with an external network. The gateway may also exchange internal signaling information relating to that voice communication session across logical ports within the local network gateway using a local signaling protocol. A voice communication session can be established between the local gateway and an external network and bridged to local communication sessions between the local gateway and end points.

Abstract: A low profile downspout extension is formed in multiple segments including a flexible conduit component, a splash block component and an extension component. An adapter is selectively connectable to the inlet portion of the flexible conduit component to allow mounting to a small downspout. The splash block component transitions from a circular inlet into a low profile rectangular configuration with an internal weir that prevents a back-flow of water into the circular portion. The low profile rectangular sections are formed with ribbed side walls and a crowned top surface to provide strength without requiring reinforcement. The flexible conduit portion includes a rectangular inlet, a circular outlet and a corrugated central portion that allows the selective orientation of the inlet relative to the outlet. The adapter includes a deflectable attachment tab that locks into an attachment rib on the inlet portion of the flexible conduit component.

Abstract: A downspout extension has multiple connector segments at each opposing end of a flexible central portion to allow the connection of the downspout extension to substantially any conventional downspout configuration. The multiple connector segments at each respective end of the downspout extension are arranged in order of increasing size in terms of cross-sectional area from the outermost segment to the connector segment adjacent the central portion. Rectangular segment configurations are located at one end of the downspout extension to correspond to the majority of conventional downspout configurations, while the opposing end of the downspout extension is formed with circular connector segments which for connection to drainage pipes so that the downspout extension will direct rainwater from the downspout into the drainage pipe. Cut lines are formed adjacent to each of the connector segments to facilitate the removal of the outermost connector segments when the smaller connector segments are not needed.

Abstract: As described herein, Multimedia over Coax Alliance (MoCA) is used to connect a range extender to a base Wireless Access Point (WAP). The MoCA based range extender may be outside the wireless range of the base WAP. In an embodiment, the MoCA based range extender may be in a wireless dead zone of the WAP. The MoCA range extender may support at least the same wireless bands as that of the base WAP. The MoCA based range extender may be automatically discovered in the network and may receive the configuration without intervention. Firmware also may be upgraded from the service provider network through the WAP. The MoCA range extender and its clients may communicate with other devices in the local network as well as other devices in the Authorized Service Domain controlled by the service provider.

Abstract: A local network call handling device is configured to establish multiple concurrent call sessions between local network end devices and an external network. When a prioritized end device attempts to establish a call session, the call handling device may initially determine if a first call session identifier is available. If so, the call session can be established using that first identifier. If the first identifier is in use for a call session of another end device, the call handling device may either use a different call session identifier for the prioritized end device session or may drop a pre-existing call session to free an identifier for use in connection with the prioritized end device.

Abstract: A multipoint laser Doppler vibrometer system (1) comprises a laser diode (2), beam expanding lens (3), a holographic optical element (HOE, 4) and a CMOS camera (5) receiving reflected light via optics (6). The HOE (4) is a hologram of a flat diffusely reflecting surface. Some light (8) is diffracted by the recorded hologram in the HOE (4) to provide a reference beam of light that is directed back towards the camera (5). Apart from some absorption the remaining light (9) continues onwards to illuminate the object The light that is reflected and scattered from the object (10) passes efficiently through the HOE (4) and interferes with the reference light (8) that is holographically reconstructed by the HOE (4) and subsequently detected by the camera (5). The beam from the laser diode (2) is divergent, which means that the sensitivity vector varies across the field of view.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide systems and methods for channeling water flowing off the roof of a structure. In one embodiment, the water channeling system includes a gutter, a gutter cover and a clip. The clip is configured to be positioned substantially within the channel defined by the gutter and to engage an inner surface of the gutter lip and a concave portion of the front wall of the gutter. The clip defines an upwardly directed groove that is configured to receive the front edge of the gutter cover.
