  • Publication number: 20080071393
Abstract: A periodic rotational vibration check for storage devices to compensate for varying loads is disclosed. A variable representing rotational vibration status is maintained in a rotational vibration log. The variable is processed to determine whether a storage device exhibits a rotational vibration issue. Workload analysis is performed to identify a change to the workloads run on physically separate hardware to resolve the rotational vibration issue and thus eliminate the need for more expensive hardware.

  • Patent number: 7334662
Abstract: An acoustic door for an equipment enclosure, such as a rack mount cabinet, also provides a low impedance air flow uniformly delivered across the cabinet opening. A pair of metal panels, with acoustic foam along the rear surfaces, extend angularly outward and toward one another to form an air inlet opening between the outer edges. A central column is positioned between the panels which, in a horizontal section, forms an aerodynamic dome which has a continuously curved sheet metal surface at the front and sides that also captures a core of acoustic foam that is exposed at the rear. A rigid vane is disposed at each lateral side and parallel to the central column to cause air to follow the column surface, deflecting air behind the column and effecting uniform delivery of air flow across the cabinet front opening at the rear opening of the door.

  • Patent number: 7259966
Abstract: An apparatus, system, and method are disclosed for reducing rotational vibration transmission within a data storage system. A storage device apparatus comprises a carrier having opposing first and second side plates. A support point may be disposed within the first side plate at about a longitudinal center region of the carrier. The support point is configured to contact an enclosure that mounts a plurality of carriers and is the sole support point in the first side plate. Preferably, the support point is positioned such that minimal rotational vibration is transmitted within the data storage system once the carrier is placed in an enclosure housing a plurality of carriers. A second support point may be disposed in the second side plate.

  • Publication number: 20060224948
Abstract: A method, system and software tool for processing an electronic form, represented by a form template including data and user interface elements, are provided. The form is rendered in accordance with the data and user interface elements of the loaded form template. A form viewer provides one or more graphic objects representing form controls. A composite template is created by adding, to the form template, an action element associated with each form control for which a graphic object is provided by the form viewer. The form is then processed according to the composite template and displayed to a user.

  • Publication number: 20060191385
Abstract: A portable hand-held screw driving tool is provided for use with collated strips of screws. The front portion of the tool is movable to a great extent, to thereby allow the tool to drive screws almost directly at the corner of two walls. A front “nose piece” is pressed against one of the walls, which causes the nose piece to move rearward “into” the remainder of the tool, in a “first stage” of movement. A screw is indexed to its drive position, and a drive bit is abutted against the screw head during this first stage. The nose piece is pressed further into the tool, which also causes a “feed tube” to move rearward “into” the remainder of the tool, in a “second stage” of movement, which rotates the screw as it is emplaced into the wall.

  • Publication number: 20050279517
Abstract: An improved hand-held screw driving tool is provided with a quick release nose sub-assembly, which can readily be attached to and detached from a main body of the tool. This capability allows the tool to be used in several different ways, by putting different nose sub-assemblies onto the main body of the tool. For example, one nose sub-assembly could drive a strip of collated screws, whereas a different nose sub-assembly could use single feed screws that are individually placed at a drive position of the nose sub-assembly. Another possible nose sub-assembly is a cutter or shears attachment that can be driven by the rotary motion of the tool's motor. Various sizes and types of fasteners can be driven by this tool.

  • Patent number: 6068482
Abstract: A computerized dental record method includes imaging a patient's teeth as a two-dimensional image, visually superimposing an initial three-dimensional computerized tooth model onto the two-dimensional image of the patient's teeth, interactively adjusting the three-dimensional teeth so that they are aligned with the two-dimensional image, and then storing the adjusted computer graphic model of the teeth as the dental record.
