The drive mechanism (124) comprises a rotor (142) adapted to transform an actuation motion of the actuator (132) into a motion of the insertion needle holder (120) in the longitudinal direction (126). The insertion device (110) further comprises at least one safety lock (164). The safety lock (164), in a locked position, is adapted to at least partially block a rotation of the rotor (142). In an unlocked position, the safety lock (164) is adapted to permit the rotation of the rotor (142).

    Abstract: An electrochemical sensor is disclosed. The sensor has a substrate having a proximal part and an elongated distal part. Electrodes are formed on the distal part. The working electrode forms a conductive trace and multiple electrode pads are arranged along and connected by conductive trace. The electrode pads include a corrosive conductive layer covered by a non-corrosive conductive layer. The corrosive conductive layer is a metal less noble or as noble as Ag, and the non-corrosive conductive is a metal more noble than Ag. An insulating layer on the substrate has openings in the areas of the electrode pads. A protective measure for the corrosive conductive layer can be provided, such as having the insulating layer at least partially overlap the electrode pad edges, or providing at least one of the electrode pads with an elongated shape along the smaller dimension of the distal part.

The first slant surface has an inner non-cutting edge and an outer non-cutting edge. The needle also includes a pair of second slant surfaces, each of which forms a second predetermined angle with respect to the main body axis that is larger than the first predetermined angle. Each second slant surface has an inner non-cutting edge and an outer cutting edge that is contiguous with an edge point of the tip portion. A method of manufacturing the implant needle is also disclosed.
