  • Patent number: 7895150
Abstract: An enterprise software system provides an innovative double dispatch data retrieval technique that facilitates determining type safety during compile-time. The system includes an object store for storing a multi-dimensional dataset object. The dataset object provides an interface having a first function for instantiating a non-type-specific indexer object and a second function that returns a type-specific value of the plurality of data element currently referenced by the indexer object. The system also includes an object model that stores the dataset object to the object store, invokes the first function to instantiate the indexer object within the object store, utilizes the indexer object to reference the data element of the dataset object, and invokes the second function to retrieve the type-specific value of the data element referenced by the indexer object. Because the dataset provides the second method by which a type-specific value is returned, compilers may quickly determine type-safety concerns.

  • Patent number: 7407707
Abstract: The invention detailed herein comprises a family of radiation-curable coating formulations specifically for metal substrates. These coating formulations are based on multifunctional acrylate resins formed by the reaction of acrylate monomers and oligomers with ÿ-keto esters (e.g., acetoacetates), ÿ-diketones (e.g., 2, 4-pentanedione), ÿ-keto amides (e.g., acetoacetanilide, acetoacetamide), and/or other ÿ-dicarbonyl compounds that can participate in the Michael addition reaction. An essential novelty of these coating resins is that they will cure under standard UV-cure conditions without the addition of traditional photoinitiators. Other materials, both reactive (conventional acrylates) and non-reactive (e.g., solvents) may also be incorporated into the resin oligomers to enhance the coatings properties on metal substrates.

  • Publication number: 20080092115
Abstract: An enterprise software system provides dynamic code generation techniques that facilitate quick and efficient resolution of multi-dimensional data demands. The system includes an object store that stores a first object that references multi-dimensional data and an object model that receives a request for multi-dimensional data referenced by the first object. The object model causes the first object to dynamically generate a portion of the executable software instructions for a second object in response to the request and instantiate the second object within the object store. The dynamically generated portion of the instructions enables the second object to calculate a memory address into the multi-dimensional data referenced by the first object. The second object utilizes the dynamically generated portion of the instructions to satisfy the request. Because the second object maintains direct access to the multi-dimensional data, it need not make costly and time consuming function calls to the first object.

  • Publication number: 20080065470
Abstract: An enterprise planning and performance management system provides a variable-based modeling technique that enables users to interact with a more manageable variable-centric front-end for complex enterprise planning software. The system enables users to specify a plurality of variable definitions via a variable-based user interface. Based on the plurality of variable definitions, the system generates, and in some instances automatically generates, model data that defines an enterprise planning model. The system uses the model data during subsequent enterprise planning sessions. Because model builders typically comprise financial analysts unfamiliar with traditional complex enterprise modeling techniques but familiar with common financial variables of an enterprise, this variable-based modeling technique may facilitate easier model building by allowing these financial analysts to generate model data from the perspective of the more readily understood variables.

  • Patent number: 7252709
Abstract: The invention detailed herein comprises a family of multifunctional acrylate oligomers which are useful as pigment grinding vehicles for use in radiation-curable coating formulations. The multifunctional acrylate resins are formed by the reaction of acrylate monomers and oligomers with ?-keto esters (e.g., acetoacetates), ?-diketones (e.g., 2,4-pentanedione), ?-keto amides (e.g., acetoacetanilide, acetoacetamide), and/or other ?-dicarbonyl compounds or Michael “donors” that can participate in the Michael addition reaction. These resin vehicles have a built-in chromophore that enables ink formulations made from their dispersions to cure under standard UV-cure conditions with significantly less photoinitiator than commercial formulations. The resins also exhibit excellent pigment wetting characteristics and can be designed to function as a single dispersion vehicle for different pigments and different ink applications such as screen, flexographic, and lithographic printing.

  • Publication number: 20070056052
Abstract: A method for generating knock-out rodents including rats and mice is disclosed. The method involves mutagenizing a rodent with a mutagen, obtaining progeny of the mutagenized rodent, and identifying, among the progeny, one progeny that carries a loss-of-function modification of a target gene. The preferred mutagen for generating knock-out mice and rats is N-ethyl-N-nitrosourea (ENU). The preferred screening assays for identifying a progeny of a mutagenized animal that carries a loss-of-function modification are yeast truncation assays and yeast functional assays. Knock-out rodents generated by the method of the present invention are also within the scope of the invention.

  • Patent number: 7172378
Abstract: A system for optimizing the load position for a container loaded onto a rolloff truck which has two side rails is effected by means of a number of pockets on each side rail. Removable stop assemblies are inserted into a corresponding pocket on each side rail. The container is then pulled up by means of a cable winch, until the container fits against the stops located on each rail. Sufficient tension is maintained on the cable so that the container cannot slide or otherwise move off the selected position, in which the load is equally distributed between the front and rear wheels.

  • Publication number: 20070004815
Abstract: The present invention relates to self-photoinitiating multifunctional urethane acrylate compositions. More particularly, the present invention relates to liquid oligomeric multifunctional acrylate compositions having pendant acrylate groups and tertiary amine groups bound as part of the polymer structure. The compositions of the present invention cure upon exposure to active radiation such as UV light in the absence of an added photoinitiator. Films made from the crosslinked oligomers of the invention are used as protective or decorative coatings on various substrates. • Publication number: 20050261388
Abstract: The liquid, uncrosslinked, UV-curable Michael addition resins and blends of the present invention exhibit performance properties that make them very effective coating materials and these properties can be modified greatly depending upon composition. Michael donors and acceptors can be constructed from Type I and/or Type II photoinitiators and can be included in the coating compositions disclosed to make UV-curable coatings with extraordinary photoreactivity and properties. Resins can be produced that show excellent adhesion to metals, plastics, wood, paper and glass. They exhibit wide ranges of hardness, toughness, flexibility, tensile strength, stain resistance, scratch resistance, impact resistance, solvent resistance, etc. Almost any desired coating performance parameter can be attained by proper selection of raw material building blocks.
