  • Patent number: 12115113
Abstract: Patient support apparatuses, such as beds, cots, stretchers, recliners, operating tables, and the like include wireless mesh network transceivers that enable them to communicate with each other, and other devices, via mesh networks and/or ad hoc networks. One or more additional wireless transceivers are included, such as WiFi transceivers that enable direct communication with a healthcare facility network, such as an Ethernet. The mesh network communication between patient support apparatuses and other devices is used for any one or more of: extending the communication range of the existing IT infrastructure, efficiently routing data to the healthcare facility network, determining location of the patient support apparatuses and devices, transporting patient data from one patient support to the next as the patient moves, and for other aspects.

  • Patent number: 12116425
Abstract: The present invention relates to articles comprising crosslinked polymer network comprising thioether crosslinks and process of making and using same. Such thiol-ene crosslinking reactions not only make the isocyanate crosslinking reaction unnecessary, but they also improve the article's strength due to chemical crosslinking between the article's resin layers, and reduce or eliminate post curing. Thus resulting in a sufficiently cured article in a much shorter time.

  • Publication number: 20240331685
Abstract: An end-to-end automatic speech recognition (ASR) system can be constructed by fusing a first ASR model with a transformer. The input of the transformer is a learned layer generated by the first ASR model. The fused ASR model and transformer can be treated as a single end-to-end model and trained as a single model. In some embodiments, the end-to-end speech recognition system can be trained using a teacher-student training technique by selectively truncating portions of the first ASR model and/or the transformer components and selectively freezing various layers during the training passes.

  • Publication number: 20240321447
Abstract: A computation system and method for early detection of sepsis and infection in patients uses personalized detection models. The system stores patient health data for many patients, including symptoms, vital signs and disease conditions obtained from medical records and wearable/personal sensors. Multiple sepsis prediction models are then trained based on identifying cohorts of similar patients using a similarity measure or score. Each model is trained using a different cohort or similarity measure. A patient is then monitored, and the model trained on the most similar set of patients is selected to monitor the patient and identify sepsis. Further as the patient's symptoms or vital signs change, the choice of the most similar patients, and associated model, is reassessed and the most appropriate model based on the patient's current state is selected. This ensures that as the patient's symptoms change the best model is used to assess likelihood of sepsis to ensure rapid and appropriate intervention.

  • Publication number: 20240311883
Abstract: A solution for pricing a mechanism comprising numerous components is provided. A price for each component is separately determined. A price for at least one component can be based on a material price for a recyclable quantity of materials included in the component. The material price can be retrieved from a material pricing database that is managed and can be updated periodically. Identifying information for the mechanism can be used to determine the corresponding components and the recyclable quantity of material included in one or more of the components. A composite price can be calculated from the price(s) for each of the components and provided for use by a user, e.g., to potentially transfer ownership of the mechanism.
