  • Patent number: 10277775
Abstract: A method for compensating tone value fluctuation in inkjet printing includes generating multi-bit halftone images of pixels on a computer during prepress screening for color separations with multiple tone values out of print image data, forwarding multi-bit halftone images to a control unit of an inkjet printing machine, and printing the multi-bit halftone on the machine, wherein encoded binary values of multi-bit halftone images correspond to ink drop sizes to be generated by the machine. The computer introduces additional binary values of multi-bit halftone images not corresponding to ink drop sizes in pixel positions of multi-bit halftone images where occurring tone value fluctuations are to be compensated for by modified ink drop sizes, causing additional binary values to be ignored by the machine in a regular print mode, and assigning additional binary values to modified ink drop sizes in a correction print mode.

  • Patent number: 10226955
Abstract: A method for setting up and carrying out a print job on an inkjet printing machine having print heads and a thermal dryer includes printing onto a substrate using water-based black and chromatic inks. First test prints of a first test chart with different area coverage test patches are generated on the substrate using black ink, thermally drying the first test prints at different temperatures and evaluating dried first test prints to determine a dryer operating temperature during the print job. A second test print of a second test chart with different ink amount test patches is generated on the substrate using chromatic inks, thermally drying the second test print at the temperature, and evaluating the dried second test print to determine a total ink amount for operating the print heads during the print job. The machine receives temperature and total ink amount and prints the print job.

  • Publication number: 20180361688
Abstract: A device for producing textile planar structures formed of a plurality of portions deposited beside one another of fiber rovings. A supply device provides a fiber rovings at a transfer installation. A plurality of path guiding rails are disposed beside one another and above the depositing face. A gripper unit and a cutting unit are disposed on each path guiding rail. Each gripper unit and each cutting unit is movable and positionable along the path guiding rail independently of the gripper units and cutting units of the other path guiding rails. The gripper units grab the fiber roving from the transfer installation and move their free end to a desired terminal position. The cutting units severs the rovings at a cutting position. The gripper units and the cutting units have a downholder for pressing the fiber roving against the depositing face.
