  • Publication number: 20200040678
Abstract: A flow diverter for connecting a central bore to an outer conduit. The flow diverter defines a portion of the central bore and angled flow passages connecting the portion of the central bore to the outer conduit. Rounded edges between the central bore and angled flow passages reduce cavitation and/or turbulence. The rounded edges and an adjacent portion of the central bore may be defined by an insert. The insert may define walls extending fully around portions of the angled flow passages.

  • Patent number: 10415754
Abstract: A pressure vessel for containing a pressurized fluid is disclosed. An outer shell may define a cavity where the fluid is stored. An inner matrix substantially fills the cavity and undertakes a majority of the forces exerted by the stored fluid. The inner matrix is a series of interconnected nodes with a series of voids located therebetween. The voids contact one another so that fluid may flow therebetween, thus filling the cavity. The interconnected nodes are filleted at the points of contact to reduce stress concentrations. An inlet/outlet device may selectively permit the introduction and removal of the fluid from the cavity.

  • Publication number: 20190244802
Abstract: An ultraviolet mercury low-pressure amalgam lamp includes a tube having a first end and a second end, a first electrode placed in the first end of the tube, and a second electrode placed in the second end of the tube, whereby when the lamp is energized a discharge path is formed between the first and second electrodes. At least one amalgam deposit is adjacent to one of the first and second electrodes out of the discharge path between the first and second electrodes. The tube has at least one constriction, wherein the at least one amalgam deposit is placed behind the constriction with respect to the discharge path such that the at least one amalgam deposit is protected by the constriction from the heat emitted by the electrodes.
