  • Publication number: 20070252330
Abstract: A board-type game to be played by two or more players. The game includes lasers where players selectively divert the path of the laser beams. The board apparatus comprises a surface, bounded by a frame, over which laser beams are directed down symbolic rows and columns which constitute a matrix of squares. Each square is a subregion of the surface piece, and is bounded along its four sides by raised edges which are parallel and perpendicular rows and columns of the board. The raised edges, creating recessed squares, assist in orienting the playing pieces. Playing pieces may contain no mirror, one mirror, or two mirrors (oriented back-to-back to produce separate surfaces reflecting in opposite directions). Playing pieces are placed in a predetermined “starting” configuration on the squares of the gridded surface piece. Depending on whether a playing piece contains a mirror or not, said piece may reflect an incident laser beam from a row to a column or from a column to a row.

  • Patent number: 7251773
Abstract: One embodiment disclosed relates to a method of visually locating a memory module. An electronic communication is received by circuitry on the memory module to be visually located. A beacon state in the memory module is activated due to receipt of the electronic communication. A beacon device on the memory module is electronically turned on when the beacon state is activated to draw attention to that memory module. Another embodiment disclosed relates to an apparatus to visually locate a memory module in a memory system with a plurality of memory modules. The apparatus includes a system board, a plurality of memory modules, and an LED unit on a memory module. The beacon unit includes a beacon device and control circuitry for turning on the beacon device when an electronic communication to turn on the beacon device is received by that memory module.

  • Publication number: 20070119733
Abstract: A golf bag rain cover is used to cover a club opening of a golf bag so that the golfer's clubs can remain as dry as possible during play. The golf bag rain cover may comprise a one-piece shell being constructed of a water-resistant material which is held in a bonnet shape over the club opening by several extensible rods. The golfer simply reaches up and under the shell to retrieve or replace clubs. In alternate embodiments, the deployment of the rain cover can be adjusted to allow more or easier access to the clubs. Also in alternate embodiments, the rain cover may be stowed in a stowage element integral with the golf bag.

  • Patent number: 7143236
Abstract: One embodiment disclosed relates to a method for persistently tracking volatile memory faults. A memory error is detected in relation to at least one dynamic random access memory (DRAM) unit on a particular memory module. An entry pertaining to the memory error is written in non-volatile memory of a fault storage unit on that particular memory module. Another embodiment disclosed relates to a memory module that persistently tracks volatile memory faults. The memory module includes a plurality of dynamic random access memories (DRAMs) and a fault storage unit. The fault storage unit includes non-volatile memory configured to store entries pertaining to faults in the plurality of DRAMs on that memory module.

  • Publication number: 20060250417
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses to create and manage volatile graphics objects in a video memory are disclosed. An object is created and marked as volatile. The volatile object is stored in a video memory of a graphics subsystem. A volatile marking indicates that data for an object is not to be paged out from the video memory to make room for other data. The video memory space occupied by the volatile object is indicated as a volatile storage, in a data structure. Another object is written into at least a portion of the video memory space, which is occupied by the volatile object, without paging out data for the volatile object. In one embodiment, at least a portion of the volatile object is referenced or used while another object is formed. The volatile object may be discarded after being referenced or used to form another object.

  • Publication number: 20060163313
Abstract: A septal stapling apparatus includes an instrument body having proximal and distal end portions. A handle at the distal end portion enables a user to hold and manipulate the instrument body. A pair of spaced apart arms are extending from the handle and include a staple arm and a tensioning arm. The body provides a trigger that moves between resting and firing positions. An actuator link moves between first and second positions, the actuator link being moved by the trigger, wherein the actuator link includes a staple moving member that is attached to the staple arm. The staple arm has a staple bank that includes multiple staples. The trigger, actuator link, staple bank, and staple moving member are configured to move a staple to a stapling position when the trigger is pulled.
