  • Patent number: 9881170
Abstract: A method for authenticating file operations on files and folders stored in a database file system where the database file system can authenticate a client-user request based upon the client-user's database credentials. The database file system has the capability of storing file permissions based on database credentials. Once a client requests a certain file operation, the client's operating system first determines whether the client has sufficient privileges to perform the requested file operation. If the client has privileges, the client operating system forwards the file operation request to the database file system. The database file system then authenticates the client, based on his database credentials, to determine whether or not to perform the requested file operation.

  • Patent number: 9855594
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention comprise forming a billet from molten steel and hot rolling the billet to reduce the cross sectional area of the billet. Thereafter, the billet is hot rolled into a lead pass bar having a cross-sectional area comprising a reduced width dimension located adjacent to the center longitudinal axis of the bar. In one embodiment of the invention, the billet can be formed into a lead pass bar having a cross-sectional area in the shape of an hourglass or peanut by feeding the billet through a first set of rolls. After the lead pass bar is formed, it is passed through a second set of rolls in order to form the substantially continuous threaded rebar without longitudinal ribs. The cross-sectional area of the lead pass bar helps to produce a substantially continuous threaded rebar product without longitudinal ribs using standard rebar manufacturing tooling and equipment.

  • Patent number: 9852206
Abstract: In a method of controlling access to secured data, a repository operatively coupled to one or more databases storing secure data is employed to intercept a user query of one database of the one or more databases. A user who generated the user query and a user role assigned to the user is automatically determined from the intercepted query. The intercepted query is parsed. Security information of the identified objects is looked up in a metamodel stored in the one or more databases. Based on the determined user role and the identified objects to be filtered out of the user query, an expression tree to filter out secure data is automatically built and the user query is modified by appending the expression tree to the user query. The modified query is applied to the one database.

  • Publication number: 20170317765
Abstract: The present disclosure provides optical link management in a marine seismic environment. A first device can transmit, to a second device, a first optical transmission at a first output level. The first optical transmission can include a first packet corresponding to a network protocol. The first device can determine that the second device failed to receive the first packet via the first optical transmission. The first device can transmit, responsive to failure of the first optical transmission, a second optical transmission at a second output level different than the first output level. The second optical transmission can include a second packet corresponding to the network protocol. The first device can identify that the second packet was successfully received by the second link manager agent. The first device can establish, responsive to the identification that the second packet was successfully received, the second output level as a transmission output level for the first device.

  • Patent number: 9800008
Abstract: A terminal crimping machine includes a termination tool having crimp tooling defining a crimping zone that receives the terminal and the wire. The crimp tooling is actuated during a crimp stroke to crimp the terminal to the wire. The terminal crimping machine includes a wire clamp holding the wire near the crimping zone. The wire clamp releases the wire prior to completion of the crimp to allow extrusion of the wire during the crimping process. Optionally, the wire clamp may release the wire prior to bottom dead center of the crimp stroke. The wire clamp may release the wire after the terminal partially retains the wire.

  • Publication number: 20170255697
Abstract: Exemplary methods, apparatuses, and systems generate and maintain patient-specific models of patient data to assist in monitoring a patient's unique health conditions, and to provide more informative analyses of patient data and the relationships between elements of patient data. When a patient modeling server receives patient data from an external device, the patient modeling server determines whether values for elements of patient data satisfy individualized ranges for the elements of patient data, specific to the patient. In response to this determination, the patient modeling server can transmit notification and/or alert messages, and modify the individualized ranges for the elements of patient data. The patient modeling server also determines relationships between elements of patient data, based on analyses performed on the elements of patient data, to generate patient-specific models.
