  • Publication number: 20200154293
Abstract: A wireless communication system includes at least one transmitter and at least one receiver. The transmitter is configured to establish wireless link parameters and transmit a data communication using the wireless link parameters. The receiver is configured to receive the data communication, automatically identify one or more of the wireless link parameters using the data, and extract a payload using the identified wireless link parameters. Prior to receiving the data communication, the receiver requires limited information concerning the wireless link parameters established by the transmitter. The wireless link parameters can include selectable aspects such as one or more of a transmission channel, a transmission data rate, a modulation format, a transmission power, a packet format, and a channel coding scheme.

  • Patent number: 10627724
Abstract: A method of controlling output of a radiation source, the method including: periodically monitoring an output energy of the radiation source; determining a difference between a reference energy signal and the monitored output energy; determining a feedback value; determining a desired output energy of the radiation source for a subsequent time period; and controlling an input parameter of the radiation source in dependence on the determined desired output energy during the subsequent time period. If the magnitude of the determined difference between the monitored output energy of the radiation source and the reference energy signal exceeds a threshold value: the determined difference does not contribute to the feedback value; and the determined difference is spread over the subsequent time period according to a reference energy signal adjustment profile and the reference energy signal adjustment profile is added to the reference energy signal for the subsequent time period.

  • Publication number: 20200015860
Abstract: Systems and methods for reducing the risk of PJK, PJF, and other conditions are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, a longitudinal extension can be added to a primary fixation construct to extend the construct to one or more additional vertebral levels. The extension can be attached to a first attachment point, such as a spinous process of a vertebra that is superior to the primary construct. The extension can also be attached to a second attachment point, such as a component of the primary construct or an anatomical structure disposed inferior to the first attachment point. The extension can be more flexible than the primary construct and/or can limit motion to a lesser degree than the primary construct, thereby providing a more-gradual transition from the instrumented vertebrae to the natural patient anatomy adjacent thereto. The extension can be placed with little or no soft tissue disruption.

  • Patent number: 10536308
Abstract: In a communication receiver circuit, an amplifier circuit can include an adjustable gain. A signal corresponding to a portion of a transmitted frame can be received, and a gain of the receiver circuit can be adjusted such as automatically, and such adjustment can be referred to as automatic gain control (AGC). An offset correction can be performed to adjust for an error in a received representation of a transmitted carrier, and such offset correction can be referred to as carrier frequency offset (CFO) correction. A portion of the received signal can be dynamically allocated between AGC and CFO correction, such as allocating a longer duration to CFO correction when AGC results in a relatively higher receiver gain, and allocating a shorter duration to CFO correction when AGC results in a relatively lower receiver gain.
