Publication number: 20060154272Abstract: Five novel DNA and protein sequences have been determined for the BRCA2 gene, as have been ten polymorphic sites and their rates of occurrence in the normal alleles of BRCA2. The sequences BRCA2(omi 1-5) and the ten polymorphic sites will provide greater accuracy and reliability for genetic testing. One skilled in the art will be better able to avoid misinterpretations of changes in the gene and/or protein sequence, determine the presence of a normal sequence, and of mutations of BRCA2. This invention is also related to a method of performing gene therapy with BRCA2(omi 1-5) coding sequences or fragments thereof. This invention is further related to protein therapy with BRCA2(omi 1-5) proteins or their functional equivalents.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 7, 2005Publication date: July 13, 2006Inventors: Patricia Murphy, Marga White, Mark Rabin, Sheri Olson, Matthew Yoshikawa, Geoffrey Jackson, Tara Eskandari, Brenda Schryer, Michael Park

Publication number: 20060010076Abstract: Metered data is accumulated and is indexed within a metering database of a client according to a metering ID (MID) and a content-associated ID (KID). The client selects a particular MID and metered data in the metering database having the selected MID, and constructs a challenge based on the selected metered data and sends same to a metering service. The metering service obtains the metered data from the challenge, stores same, and constructs a response. The client receives the response including a list of KIDs of the selected metered data in the challenge, and processes the list of KIDs by, for each KID in the list, deleting the metered data from the metering database having the selected MID and the KID.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 23, 2004Publication date: January 12, 2006Applicant: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Benjamin Cutter, Brian Evans, Clifford Strom, Michael Parks

Publication number: 20050251487Abstract: A request to render encrypted content is received and a chain of licenses corresponding to the content is located. The chain includes a leaf license linked to the content at one end of the chain, a root license at the other end of the chain, and any intermediate licenses therebetween. The leaf license and any intermediate licenses in the chain are each bound to the adjoining license in the chain toward the root license, and the root license is bound to an owner of a private key (PR-U). For each license in the chain, the license is verified and it is confirmed that the license allows the content to be rendered. A decryption key is obtained from the leaf license based on application of (PR-U) to the root license, the obtained key is applied to decrypt the encrypted content, and the decrypted content is rendered.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 23, 2004Publication date: November 10, 2005Applicant: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Brian Evans, Clifford Strom, Michael Parks

Publication number: 20050114689Abstract: A source generates a medium key (KM) and a media secret table including a plurality of entries, each entry including (KM) encrypted by a public key (PU-PD) of a plurality of devices, obtains the medium ID of a medium therefrom, generates a content key (KD) for a piece of content, encrypts the content with (KD) to result in (KD(content)), encrypts (KD) with (KM) to result in (KM(KD)), generates a package for the content including (KD(content)), (KM(KD)), the medium ID, and a signature based on at least the medium ID and verifiable with (KM), and copies the generated package and the media secret table to the medium. Thus, a device with the medium and a private key (PR-PD) corresponding to an entry of the media secret table can access and render the content.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 20, 2004Publication date: May 26, 2005Applicant: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Clifford Strom, Ian Mercer, James Alkove, Jeffrey McKune, Kevin LaChapelle, Michael Parks

Publication number: 20050039119Abstract: A presentation generator may access one or more data sources structured into data fields. The user may create or modify a template by inserting one or more tags corresponding to data fields in the template. The template may also have one or more processing instructions for indicating the data sources and how the data sources should be queried. The processing instructions may also indicate how the data is to be grouped across various slides, pages, sections, etc. The generator may build the presentation based on the template, its tags, and its processing instructions. The resulting presentation may be accessed by a user-friendly application, such as a word processor, slide program, spreadsheet, report viewer, or other application. The user may update part or all of the presentation using information on the queries and data sources embedded in the presentation itself.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 10, 2004Publication date: February 17, 2005Applicant: Accenture Global Services GmbHInventors: Michael Parks, Steven Petchon

Patent number: 6427160Abstract: In a computer system, a method and system for verifying whether a floating-point logic unit correctly directly rounds floating-point numbers when conducting multiplication, square root, and division operations. A bit sequence that represents a directed boundary condition for a mathematical operation is identified. This sequence is then recast in terms of a series of integer equations. A recurrence is used to solve these equations to produce difficult test data. When solving the equations, any intermediate terms that exceed the computer's precision are discarded. The logic then conducts the mathematical operation under inspection using the test cases. The logic's computed value is then compared to an expected value. If the computed value equals the expected value, the logic has accurately performed the operation. If not, the logic is faulty.Type: GrantFiled: August 10, 1999Date of Patent: July 30, 2002Assignee: Sun Microsystems, Inc.Inventors: Michael Parks, Douglas M. Priest

Patent number: 6389322Abstract: A method of remotely manufacturing a cover for an article, such as a piece of upholstered furniture includes the steps of: ascertaining dimensional data of the article, and relating the data to individual portions of the article, determining a group of physically inter-related templates associated with these individual portions. Each template is definable on a plane of co-oridinates and is derived from a series of mathematical functions evaluated using this data, and using each template to form a corresponding cover piece and joining the cover pieces to form the cover for the furniture article.Type: GrantFiled: October 6, 1998Date of Patent: May 14, 2002Assignee: Cameleon Loose Covers Pty Ltd.Inventors: Thomas Michael Park, Robert Geoffrey Park

Patent number: 5956336Abstract: A circuit and method is provided for implementing a content addressable memory circuit (100) in which an output word is produced which corresponds to the content of a reference word containing an ATM header. According to a first aspect, a binary search logic circuit (104) binarily searches the memory array (101) to find a match word whose content is equal to that of the reference word. Output signals indicate either that a match has been found or that the binary searching of the memory array (101) should continue at addresses either above or below the location address of the match word. According to a second aspect, the content addressable memory circuit (100) performs a concurrent search of switching identifiers, virtual circuit identifiers and virtual path identifiers, to determine if a virtual path connection or virtual circuit connection exists for an ATM header.Type: GrantFiled: September 27, 1996Date of Patent: September 21, 1999Assignee: Motorola, Inc.Inventors: Jon Ashor Loschke, Charley Michael Parks, Mark Franklin, Kenneth Wade Jones

Patent number: 5893137Abstract: A circuit and method is provided for implementing a content addressable memory circuit (100) in which at least one output word is produced which corresponds to the content of a match word. A binary search logic circuit (103) binarily searches the memory array (101) to find a match entry with multiple words whose content is equal to that of an input value with multiple words. The amount of words in each match entry is user programmable and defined at startup. The CAM (100) is capable of masking out words to be compared or outputted and allows overlapping of words to be compared and outputted. Output signals indicate whether a match has been found.Type: GrantFiled: November 29, 1996Date of Patent: April 6, 1999Assignee: Motorola, Inc.Inventors: Charley Michael Parks, Jon Ashor Loschke
