Abstract: Techniques are disclosed that involve providing enhanced user experiences involving the consumption and management of content. For instance, embodiments provide user interface elements that present information regarding content that overcomes barriers or silos between application and platforms. Examples of such user interface elements include a three dimensional carousel, a preview stack, a favorites button, and a My Channel user interface. Also, embodiments may provide techniques for obtaining contextual content. Such techniques include, but are not limited to, zooming mechanisms and combining (or “mashup”) mechanisms.

Abstract: Exemplary embodiments are generally directed to systems and methods of object identification. Exemplary embodiments can scan, by an optical reader, a machine-readable identifier associated with an original object. Exemplary embodiments can capture an image of the original object at a first orientation using an image capture device. Exemplary embodiments can transmit the machine-readable identifier and the image of the original object to an image database to store an association between the image of the original object and the machine-readable identifier. Exemplary embodiments can receive a subsequent object having a subsequent machine-readable identifier that is unavailable or incapable of being scanned. Exemplary embodiments can capture an image of the subsequent object with the image capture device.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method for performing incremental database backups may include (1) identifying a request to perform a block-level incremental backup of a database, the block-level incremental backup including data that has changed within the database since a previous block-level incremental backup of the database, (2) requesting, in response to the request, a differential backup stream from a database server of the database, (3) creating an incremental backup stream from the differential backup stream at least in part by removing at least one database block from the differential backup stream that has not changed since the previous block-level incremental backup and (4) forwarding the incremental backup stream to a backup location to create the block-level incremental backup. Various other methods, systems, and computer-readable media are also disclosed.

Abstract: Techniques relating to performing an incremental backup of a database relative to a previous backup are disclosed. The incremental backup may include initiating monitoring of a dirty list indicative of one or more portions of the database that have been modified since the previous backup, causing a reset of the dirty list, obtaining a copy of the dirty list, and backing up only portions of the database identified by the copy of the dirty list. The copy may be representative of the dirty list immediately prior to the reset.

Abstract: A system and method for conveying product information. The system includes an interactive product guide that has product options linked to a product database comprising product data organized in an ontology and a taxonomy. The product options dynamically switch from being available or unavailable for selection by a user depending on prior option selections by the user. Product data from the product database corresponding to products characterized by the selected options are presented to the user. Methods for using the system include presenting the system to a user for interaction therewith.

Abstract: Methods, computer program products, computer systems, and the like, which provide for the performance of a targeted backup operation, are disclosed. Such a targeted backup operation is performed on a backup that comprises a plurality of data blocks. The data blocks, in turn, comprise an in-use data block and an unused data block. The targeted backup operation comprises performing a backup operation on the in-use data block.

Abstract: An insulation panel is described that is adapted to be installed between framing members of a building, such as a stud, joist, or rafter. The insulation panel can be installed without the use of fasteners or adhesive. The panel is made of a rigid insulation material such as expanded polystyrene. Grooves are provided along a length of the panel to allow for compression and accommodation of variations in the spacing between framing members.

Abstract: A system, method, and medium for performing incremental backups of a Microsoft SQL server database. A snapshot of the database is created, and then a map identifying the changed extents is retrieved from the snapshot. The changed extents are then retrieved from the snapshot and stored in a backup storage device. For a restore operation, a full database backup file is written to a storage device and then the changed extents from a stored incremental backup file may be merged with the full backup file. Next, the database server is notified of the reconstructed file and then the reconstructed file is mounted by the database server as a live instance of the database.

Abstract: A recloseable package is provided having a tamper-indicating element. The tamper-indicating element include one or more self-terminating shapes that form one or more chads after opening the recloseable package. Advantageously, the self-terminating shapes provide a simple, visual cue of graphical alignment in the seal to show the customer whether or not a package has been opened.

For example, one method involves receiving a first selection, where the first selection identifies data abstraction. The data abstraction represents a data source that can be restored. The method also involves receiving a second selection, where the second selection identifies a restore operation, and where the restore operation is associated with the data abstraction. The method also involves determining data to be restored, where this determination is based on the data source(s) (as can be determined from the data abstraction) and on the second selection. Data can then be restored based on the determined data.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method for restoring application data may include (1) receiving a request to restore resource data for a resource to a selected state, (2) identifying a plurality of backup datasets, each backup dataset within the plurality of backup datasets including at least a portion of backed up data for the resource, (3) determining an order in which to restore the plurality of backup datasets in order to restore the resource data to the selected state, and (4) restoring the resource data for the resource to the selected state by restoring the plurality of backup datasets in the order as determined. Abstract: A system and method for restoring a database are described. The method may comprise requesting to begin receiving notifications of transactions that occur in the database. In response to the request, notifications of a plurality of transactions that occur in the database may be received, and information specifying the plurality of transactions may be stored. The method may further comprise receiving user input requesting to restore the database to a previous state. In response, the stored information may be retrieved, and a graphical user interface indicating the plurality of transactions specified by the stored information may be displayed. The method may further comprise receiving user input to the graphical user interface selecting a particular transaction of the plurality of transactions. In response, the database may be restored to a particular point in time relative to a time at which the particular transaction occurred.
