  • Publication number: 20180074976
Abstract: Executable memory space is protected by receiving, from a process, a request to configure a portion of memory with a memory protection attribute that allows the process to perform at least one memory operation on the portion of the memory. Thereafter, the request is responded to with a grant, configuring the portion of memory with a different memory protection attribute than the requested memory protection attribute. The different memory protection attribute restricting the at least one memory operation from being performed by the process on the portion of the memory. In addition, it is detected when the process attempts, in accordance with the grant, the at least one memory operation at the configured portion of memory. Related systems and articles of manufacture, including computer program products, are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9894040
Abstract: Embodiments are directed to securing data in the cloud, securely encrypting data that is to be stored in the cloud and to securely decrypting data accessed from the cloud. In one scenario, an instantiated trust service receives information indicating that a trust server is to be instantiated. The trust service instantiates the trust server, which is configured to store key references and encrypted keys. The trust service receives the public key portion of a digital certificate for each publisher and subscriber that is to have access to various specified portions of encrypted data. A data access policy is then defined that specifies which encrypted data portions can be accessed by which subscribers.

  • Publication number: 20180023510
Abstract: A nacelle is configured to be coupled to an underside of a wing and forms a clearance space between the nacelle and a leading edge slat of the wing. A portion of an outlet cowling moves longitudinally aft when a reverse thrust configuration is activated and the leading edge slat is deployed toward the nacelle. The outlet cowling also includes another portion located adjacent to the leading edge slat that does not move when the reverse thrust configuration is activated and thus maintains its clearance space from the leading edge slat.

  • Publication number: 20180026676
Abstract: A system that reduces crosstalk and return loss within electrical communication connectors includes at least two compensating capacitors connected in series that compensate each offending capacitor. An additional inductive component that is connected between two compensating capacitors so that the adjustable inductance of the inductive component can be varied to modify the capacitive coupling effect achieved by the compensating capacitors as a function of frequency. A shape-neutral structure containing two compensating capacitors and one series inductive component in between is positioned so that each compensating capacitor is juxtaposed parallel to the offending capacitor. There is no direct contact between the shape-neutral structure and the transmission lines, and the shape-neutral structure does not change the shape of PCB traces and reduces both crosstalk and return loss.
