  • Patent number: 9870457
Abstract: Systems and methods for identifying and/or authenticating individuals utilizing microwave sensing modules are disclosed. A HEaRtbeat Microwave Authentication (HERMA) system can enable the active identification and/or authentication of a user by analyzing reflected RF signals that contain a person's unique characteristics related to their heartbeats. An illumination signal is transmitted towards a person where a reflected signal captures the motion of the skin and tissue (i.e. displacement) due to the person's heartbeats. The HERMA system can utilize existing transmitters in a mobile device (e.g. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Cellphone signals) as the illumination source with at least one external receive antenna. The received reflected signals can be pre-processed and analyzed to identify and/or authenticate a user.

  • Patent number: 9851437
Abstract: In one embodiment, a method for tracking multiple objects with a probabilistic hypothesis density filter is provided. The method includes comparing second track IDs corresponding to newly obtained measurements to one or more first track IDs corresponding to a Tk+1 predicted intensity having a predicted weight. If all of the one or more first track IDs match any of the second track IDs, the predicted weight is multiplied by a first value. If less than all of the one or more first track IDs match any of the second track IDs, the predicted weight is multiplied by a second value, wherein the second value is greater than the first value. The method then determines whether to prune the Tk+1 predicted intensity based on the predicted weight after multiplying with either the first value or the second value.

  • Publication number: 20170305631
Abstract: The present invention provides a resilient and tough, but flexible protective cover that hugs and squeezes various types of moving items without the need for any external securing means such as tape, rope, straps, large rubber bands, plastic, etc. The protective cover prevents damage to items that might occur during the course of moving. It eliminates, among other types of damage, scuffs, scrapes, dents, and scratches that could happen when items are being moved. While the protective cover is “hugging” the items, it also keeps items with moving components such as desks, dressers, cabinets, and appliances, in place by preventing shifting or movement of the moving components.

  • Publication number: 20170258125
Abstract: A system according to various embodiments can include a source for supplying a material to be treated, an extruder, at least two screws, and a drive coupled to the screws for axially rotating the screws. The extruder includes an inlet for receiving the material, which is fed therein in a controlled manner. The screws are provided within the housing of the extruder. The screws have a plurality of compression and release stages that create mechanical heat which is directly applied to the material to change the mechanical properties of the material thereby facilitating a conversion of a physical state of the material from a non-compactable state to a compactable state as the screws rotate and move the material longitudinally along the screws to produce a final product, for example, a feed tub for use as an animal feed.

  • Patent number: 9750268
Abstract: An apparatus and method for processing grain material to generate a consistently high densified grain with a desired length, shape and size. The densified grain processing apparatus comprises a die assembly, a cooling assembly and a break-off assembly. The method includes receiving the grain material by the die assembly and forcing the grain material through an extrusion passageway that evenly distributes the grain material into a plurality of orifices thereby producing a high density shaped grain before the grain material exits the die assembly. A coolant is pumped to a coolant passage by means of an at least one pump and cools the shaped grain by passing the shaped grain through at least one of the cooling tube inside a cooling chamber. The break-off assembly then breaks off a predetermined length of the shaped grain.

  • Publication number: 20170154064
Abstract: Systems and methods that enable removal of data from an endpoint, while not propagating such removal to other endpoints when synchronizing data sources associated therewith. A designation component can indicate items as forgotten items, wherein such items are being known to an endpoint and deleted therefrom—yet, reintroduced therein and reappearing (e.g., as a create) upon re-synchronizing with the replica over again. Moreover, the forgotten items can employ additional metadata such as in from of an additional bit that indicates whether an item is a forgotten item.
