  • Publication number: 20180154933
Abstract: A robotic vehicle is provided with a novel wheel design and a virtual differential transmission. The novel wheels are generally rounded with scallops along the outer periphery permitting secure engagement of irregular terrain structures, such as the rungs of an inclined ladder. The virtual differential transmission employs rotational sensors in independently driven wheels to maintain information on the relative rotational position of left- and right-side wheels. When necessary, the relative rotational position information is used to selectively drive the left- or right-side wheel until the scallops in a left-side wheel are horizontally aligned with the scallops in a right-side wheel. Thus, the virtual differential transmission can realign the scallops in left- and right-side wheels to facilitate their mutual engagement with a terrain structure, such as a ladder rung.

  • Patent number: 9729729
Abstract: A system and method for providing digital data content to a wireless device. Although a fee is typically charged for access to the digital data content, e.g., electronic books, the system and the method provides controlled access to this content for free while the wireless device is accessing the content in a specified location, e.g., a retail location. A content control server receives a request from the wireless device requesting access to the digital data content. The request is received over a secure connection, preferably a virtual private network (VPN). The content control server monitors how much of the digital data content has been provided to the wireless device, and/or an amount of time the wireless device has been accessing the digital data content. This content control server uses this monitored data to control, throttle, the provision of the digital data content to the wireless device.

  • Patent number: 9598242
Abstract: A moving floor system that includes a moving work surface to move work products from an upstream end to a downstream end. The moving work surface is formed from a plurality of individual carts joined to each other. The stack of carts is moved along upper support rails located at an upper level. When each individual cart reaches the downstream end, a downstream lift conveyor moves the individual cart from the upper level to a lower level. When at the lower level, each individual cart is returned from the downstream end to the upstream end. When each individual cart reaches the upstream end, an upstream lift conveyor returns the individual carts from the lower level to the upper level. An upper drive mechanism provides the motive force to move the stack of carts along the upper level at the working speed.

  • Publication number: 20170033381
Abstract: Invented is a Resource Tower that uses water electrolysis to separate out its elemental and purified H2 hydrogen gas and O2 oxygen gas. These gases form a pressurized flow for electricity generation for distribution and transport to heights atop the Resource Tower. Core advancements of this invention are the use of fuel cells at the top of the Resource Tower to electrochemically combine hydrogen gas and oxygen gas to produce electricity, heat, and water. The Resource Tower distributes the electricity, converts heat and water to steam to generate additional electricity for distribution, and ultimately coalesces the steam back to water at a height. The water that falls under acceleration of gravity from atop the Resource Tower is used to generate additional electricity for distribution.

  • Publication number: 20160187891
Abstract: The Hydrostatic Pressure Exchanger transforms a volume of water and its energy potential collectively referred to as hydrostatic pressure into a natural, harmless, spontaneous, and limitless energy source. That Available Energy may be applied to electrical generators, compressors, pumps, mechanical transmissions, and other producers for a useful result. The abundance of water around the world allows the Exchanger to provide Available Energy to communities across the world near oceans, seas, bays, lakes, or other natural and man-made bodies of water or flowing water. The Exchanger is a Vessel divided by a Slider into two Chambers. By the synchronized action of InPorts and OutPorts the Slider moves away from the Chamber opened to the higher hydrostatic pressure of the volume of water and towards the Chamber of lower hydrostatic pressure defined by Chamber dimensions. As the Slider moves it pushes water in the Chamber through the OutPort at useful higher velocity and pressure.
