  • Publication number: 20100139608
Abstract: A portable handheld work apparatus has at least one work tool which is driven by an internal combustion engine (2). The engine (2) has a crankcase (20) which is formed, at least in part, by a crankcase sump (28). The work apparatus has a housing component (4) of plastic. The crankcase sump (28) is made of metal and is injection molded into the housing component (4) of the work apparatus. The engine (2) has an ignition unit which includes an ignition module (31). A simple configuration of the work apparatus results when the ignition module (31) is fixed directly and electrically conductively to the metal crankcase sump (28). For making the work apparatus, at least one attachment element for attaching a work tool carrier is fixed on the crankcase sump (28) before the crankcase sump (28) is injection molded therearound by the material of the housing component (4).

  • Publication number: 20100042294
Abstract: In a triggering method for activating a lateral velocity estimating system for occupant protection devices, one or more vehicle-dynamics variables are sensed and evaluated. Based on the sensed vehicle-dynamics variables an oversteer and understeer detection procedure and a road condition detection procedure are performed, which are evaluated for activation of the lateral velocity estimating system.

  • Patent number: 7664587
Abstract: An apparatus for detecting a vehicle rollover includes a sensor suite for sensing vehicle dynamics data, the sensor suite being connected to a processor which is configured in such a way that the processor detects a vehicle rollover as a function of the vehicle dynamics data and the rollover sensor suite. The processor has means for dividing an operating state of the vehicle into chronologically successive phases. In particular, the processor has means for determining, for each phase, a float angle and a transverse vehicle velocity from the vehicle dynamics data; the float angle and the transverse vehicle velocity being used, together with the data from the rollover sensor suite, for detection of the vehicle rollover.

  • Publication number: 20090318770
Abstract: A surgical lamp that includes a lamp body having a central axis, and a suspension system for connecting the lamp body with a carrying system. The suspension system can include a first pivot joint around a first pivot axis that is perpendicular to the central axis, and the first pivot joint can be located in the central region of the lamp body.

  • Publication number: 20090306859
Abstract: A device and a method for triggering passenger protection systems, the passenger protection systems being triggered as a function of a rollover process. A signal which characterizes a road grip coefficient (coefficient of friction) is received via an interface. An evaluation circuit is provided which triggers the passenger protection systems as a function of the signal and a stability factor, the evaluation circuit determining the stability factor as a function of at least one kinematic variable.

  • Publication number: 20090216409
Abstract: A method for determining an initial float angle for skid detection in rollover sensing of a rollover of a vehicle having at least one sensor system for vehicle-dynamic signals and a control unit for activating a restraining device, which divides the driving state of the vehicle into chronologically consecutive state phases, having the following method steps carried out continuously in the first state phase: calculating a change in the float angle from the vehicle-dynamic signals; comparing the calculated change in the float angle with a predefinable threshold value; and determining the initial float angle on the basis of the calculated change in the float angle as a function of the threshold value for a first range of small changes in the float angle or for a second range of larger values of changes in the float angle and a device therefor.
