  • Publication number: 20140149580
Abstract: Techniques for separately accounting for multiple transactions in the same data packets communicated over a network using Transport Control Protocol (TCP) include receiving an Internet Protocol (IP) data packet that includes Transport Control Protocol (TCP) payload data. The TCP payload is parsed to determine boundary data that indicates a byte location on a boundary between a first transaction and a second transaction. A byte count that indicates a number of bytes in the TCP payload associated with the first transaction is determined based on the boundary data. Accounting data for the first transaction is determined based at least in part on the byte count. These techniques allow a service gateway to bill separately for different requests and responses carried in TCP data packets, such as those for Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) and Real Time Streaming Protocol (RTSP).

  • Patent number: 8286239
Abstract: Systems, methods and apparatus for identifying web risks use a web risk service external to network edges of at least one system. The web risk service receives a web request from a computer within the at least one system, the web request identifying at least one network address. The web risk service determines a web risk index score for the at least one network address, and compares the determined web risk index score to at least one threshold value. Based on the comparison, the service determines how to handle the web request, e.g., by forwarding, blocking, and/or logging the web request.

  • Patent number: 8248476
Abstract: A stereo calibration method is proposed to calibrate an interface's shape and position when the measurement system is in one media and measures deformation and strain of an object that is submerged in a different media. After the interface's shape and position are modeled by parameters, an explicit model of object points as measurement is established taking account of refraction happening at the interface. Efficiency and convergence are assured by using measurement of object points to acquire initial estimates for refraction angles at the interface. Then, an optimization method is performed to get the optimized value of interface parameters. Last, based on the resulting interface parameters, 3-dimensional positions of object points in all the subsequent measurement could be reconstructed accurately. Therefore, the distortion induced by refraction in the measurement is corrected.

  • Publication number: 20110085040
Abstract: A playground security system comprises a power supply and a monitoring station. The monitoring station comprises a camera, a light and/or an audio deterrent device which are electrically connected to the power supply. The monitoring station can be contained in a post; and the post is part of a playground structure or can be a stand alone post. The audio deterrent device emits signals in a frequency range that is bothersome to humans between the ages of about 13 to about 25 years. The audio deterrent device and light are activated by a motion sensor. Further, the system includes a dusk-to-dawn sensor which also controls the audio deterrent device and the light. The camera can be in an “always-on” mode and can be adapted to transmit signals containing visual or audio-visual information. The camera signals can be stored and viewed remotely from the playground.

  • Patent number: 7859352
Abstract: Systems and methods for insuring successful initiation of a resonating micro-electro mechanical systems (MEMS). An example system includes a resonating sensor, a drive device, a charge amplifier, and a voltage gain circuit. At start up, the charge amplifier and voltage gain circuit receives signals from the resonating sensor, compensates this signal for DC offsets, and generates a clock signal for the drive, thus placing the resonating sensor in a steady state operating mode. The circuit includes a plurality of gain switches that are toggled to produce a glitch in the signal associated with the received signal. The glitch overcomes the DC offset. A comparator generates the clock signal for the drive device if a signal associated with the received signal exceeds a reference signal.
