  • Publication number: 20220332176
Abstract: The invention relates to a panel joining arrangement for a vehicle canopy. The vehicle canopy includes at least one three panel join where a side panel, roof panel and end panel of the vehicle canopy meet. The panel joining arrangement comprises first and second lip portions formed in the side panel of the vehicle canopy and a third lip portion formed in the roof panel. The first and second lip portions are longitudinally offset and transversely overlapping in relation to a length of the side panel. The third lip portion is configured to mate with the second lip portion at the three panel join of the vehicle canopy such that the third lip portion is located adjacent to and substantially flush with the first lip portion.

  • Patent number: 11231059
Abstract: A fastening device for fastening at least two panels or flanges to each other is disclosed. The device comprises a male member, a female member and a washer. The male member is inserted into and at least partially through aligned slots in the panels or flanges. The male member includes or houses a first securing component. The female member defines an opening generally complementally shaped to the projection of the male member. The male member and the female member are configured to receive the at least two panels or flanges between them when the projection is received in the opening. The washer mates with the female member such that displacement of the washer relative to the female member towards the male member is substantially prevented. The device further comprises a second securing component configured to mate with the first securing component and to secure the washer against the female member.

  • Patent number: 11106495
Abstract: Various embodiments are generally directed to techniques for partitioning parallelizable tasks into subtasks for processing. Some embodiments are particularly directed to dynamically determining chunk sizes to use in partitioning tasks, such as parallel loops or divide and conquer algorithm tasks, into subtasks based on the probability of a priority task source introducing a high-priority task. For example, a measurement signal received from a probe indicating an operational characteristic associated with a priority task source may be used to generate an estimate of the probability of a priority task source introducing a high-priority task. In such examples, the estimate may be used to determine a chunk size for a parallelizable task and the parallelizable task may be partitioned into a plurality of subtasks based on the chunk size and the subtasks may be assigned, for execution, to at least one task queue in a task pool.

  • Publication number: 20210175822
Abstract: The present invention relates to a sensing system that, in a preferred embodiment, can be readily integrated into load-lifting structures (such as wings and landing gears) to provide real-time DPHM and obviate/mitigate catastrophic problems. Broadly, the present sensing system combines at least one shim portion with at least one nanogenerator such as a TENG or a PENG. A major advantage of the present sensing system is that it combines in a single structure the following functions: (a) gap management in the component in which the sensing system is installed, (b) collection/storage of measured data for the component in which the sensing system is installed, (c) harvesting/storing energy from operation environment of the component in which the sensing system is installed (e.g., DPHM data when the present sensing system is used for assessment of an aircraft's structural conditions), and (d) wireless transmission of measured data for the component in which the sensing system is installed to a user interface.

  • Publication number: 20200398644
Abstract: An air vent for a vehicle or vehicle canopy includes an external and an internal duct. The external duct has an inlet and an outlet. The height of the outlet is less than that of the inlet. The inlet and the outlet are arranged such that, in use, an uppermost point of the inlet is located above an uppermost point of the outlet. The internal duct is in fluid communication with the external duct via one or more openings arranged in the internal duct or at a junction between the internal duct and the external duct. The internal duct is configured to be in fluid communication with an interior of the vehicle via a slot defined by the vehicle. The or each opening is arranged such that, in use, the uppermost point of the outlet of the external duct is located below a lowermost point of the or each opening.
