  • Publication number: 20080120273
Abstract: A method, computer program, and system for optimizing the execution of a SQL request on a database system are disclosed. The database system has a state. The request has characteristics and the state has characteristics. The SQL request is parsed to create a logical plan. The logical plan is enumerated into a plurality of physical plans. The plurality of physical plans are costed using current environmental and data demographics of the database system to produce cost information. One of the plurality of physical plans is selected using the cost information and workload profile information to execute the request. Workload profile information includes one or more characteristics of the request and the state of the database system. The request is executed using the selected physical plan to produce results.

  • Publication number: 20060260718
Abstract: Systems and methods provide for identifying, tracking, and coordinating the processing of natural materials in a process. The unit material is scanned to determine natural physical characteristics. At least portions of these scanned characteristics are quantified and classified, then recorded as the unique identifier for the unit. The material may then be stored, shipped, or transferred to a further process, where the material is once again scanned for natural characteristics, compared to a library of previously recorded units and their characteristics, then processed, inventoried, tracked, or invoiced based on previous data associated with this specific unit, thereby eliminating the need for bar coding or other physical marking methods.

  • Patent number: 6964583
Abstract: A high speed signal connector having a plurality of signal conductors disposed within the housing and a ground bus or plane disposed within the housing and including a plurality of coextensive layers of different conductive materials including at least a first conductive base layer having predetermined conductivity and permeability and a second conductive top layer have predetermined conductivity and permeability. A multiple layer common ground provides for improved current flow within the common ground so as to minimize cross talk between signal contacts. As a result, the present invention provides a connector for high frequency signal transmission which exhibits an attenuation characteristic which is substantially independent of frequency within a predetermined and selectable frequency range and which permits the tailoring of the attenuation and phase response of the connector as a function of frequency.
