Patent number: 6070412Abstract: The invention relates to a combustion chamber containing a number of aerohanical injectors mounted in the end of the chamber that connects the upstream end of two annular walls and which are supplied with fuel permanently during operation. The injectors are arranged in two concentric rows around the axis of symmetry and in pairs in longitudinal planes passing through the axis of symmetry. The injectors of the two rows are more or less equidistant from the outlet of the chamber and have axes directed toward the outlet. A carefully considered distribution of the primary holes, dilution holes and the air flow allows the emissions of oxides of nitrogen to be reduced.Type: GrantFiled: October 28, 1998Date of Patent: June 6, 2000Assignee: Societe National d'Etude et de Construction de Moteurs d'Aviation "Snecma"Inventors: Denis Roger Henri Ansart, Bruno James, Michel Andre Albert Desaulty, Richard Emile Staessen

Patent number: 5634254Abstract: A method for manufacturing a ring for swaging from a continuous metal strip includes stamping strip ends to about one-half the thickness of the metal strip. Studs are formed on the ends of the strip. The displaced metal is trimmed from the ends to maintain a uniform width. The strip of metal is cut between adjacent strip ends. The strip is then rolled until the ends of the metal strip are abutted, the compressed strip ends forming a housing for receiving a plate. Plates are fabricated to fit in the housing. Each plate includes corresponding holes for receiving the studs on the strip ends. The studs are riveted in the holes to secure the ring. The holes may be formed on the strip ends and the plate can be formed with studs to secure the ring.Type: GrantFiled: May 30, 1995Date of Patent: June 3, 1997Assignee: Etablissements CaillauInventors: Lionel Calmettes, Pascal Detable, Michel Andre

Patent number: 5553358Abstract: A clamp fitting is formed by a metal band wound on itself. One end of the band presents an ear radially projecting on the outer periphery of the clamp. The other end of the band is shaped as a hook capable of hooking behind the ear to maintain the clamp in a tightened position. After hooking, on the face of the metal band located opposite the hook bearing zone, the ear is provided with a member integral therewith and of which a zone is capable of coming into stop contact with the inner face of the hook when the latter is being hooked on the ear. This additional contact with the inner face of the hook prevents any relative displacement of the hook with respect to the ear and consequently any increase in the tightening of the clamp.Type: GrantFiled: May 11, 1994Date of Patent: September 10, 1996Assignee: Establissements CaillauInventors: Lionel Calmettes, Pascal Detable, Michel Andre

Patent number: 5536047Abstract: This invention relates to a connector of a quick connection allowing tight connection of a rigid tube provided, at some distance from its free end intended to be fitted in the inlet of the connector, with a bead projecting radially with respect to the outer surface of the tube and presenting a substantially radial side opposite said end. The connector presents a first inner housing comprising an O-ring capable of coming into contact with the outer surface of the tube between its free end and its bead and a second inner housing to receive a locking ring elastically deformable in the radial direction. The locking ring is formed by a thin metal band presenting a generally oblong profile, the central region of said ring being constituted by substantially cylindrical portions whose diameter in the free state is at the most equal to the diameter of the tube.Type: GrantFiled: August 25, 1994Date of Patent: July 16, 1996Assignee: Etablissments CaillauInventors: Pascal Detable, Michel Andre

Patent number: 5530996Abstract: A clamp fitting is formed by an internal segment of metal band wound upon itself, and an external segment of metal band formed about a portion of the internal segment. The internal segment extends for more than one complete circumference such that the outer end of the internal segment overlaps the internal end of the internal segment to form a continuous internal surface. The outer end of the internal segment presents an ear formed by two folds of band placed back to back and projecting radially on the outer periphery of the clamp. The external band segment extends only for a partial circumference. One end of the external segment is attached to the outer face of the internal segment. The other end of the external segment is shaped as a hook capable of hooking behind the ear to maintain the clamp in a tightened position.Type: GrantFiled: May 11, 1994Date of Patent: July 2, 1996Assignee: Etablissements CaillauInventors: Lionel Calmettes, Pascal Detable, Michel Andre

Patent number: 5496074Abstract: A quick connector is provided for connecting a tube inserted into a connection element. The tube includes an annular swell spaced at a distance from its end. The connector housing of the connection element is provided with a locking member and locking ring elastically deformable in a radial direction between a free state configuration and an unlocking configuration. The outer periphery of the connector housing has two cylindrical parts separated by an axial stop. The locking ring abuts the axial stop. A locking lug is connected to the locking ring and includes a front ramp with a transverse slot. A spacer deforms the locking lug in a radially outward direction to the unlocking configuration. When the tube is fitted in the connection element, the front ramp of the locking lug cooperates with the swell of the tube to move the lug apart. When the tube has been fitted in the connector and the slot is at the axial level of the swell, the locking lug approaches its free state configuration.Type: GrantFiled: January 20, 1995Date of Patent: March 5, 1996Assignee: Etablissements CaillauInventors: Henri Viratelle, Michel Andre
