  • Patent number: 5469604
Abstract: A ring for swaging constituted by a rolled-up length of metal strip whose two ends are bonded together without give rise to significant increased thickness in the bonding zone. The ends of the strip are disposed substantially in contact with each other via their terminal edges, and the thickness of each of said ends is close to half the thickness of the strip. The inside faces of the ends are offset outwardly relative to the inside surface of the ring so as to constitute a housing for a plate whose thickness is close to half the thickness of the strip. A set of complementary studs and holes is provided on the ends of the strip and on the plate, said studs being engaged in the holes and their free ends being riveted to the element opposite from the element carrying them.

  • Patent number: 5459906
Abstract: This invention relates to a band clamp fitting constituted by a metal band wound on itself, presenting, near one of its ends, an ear provided with an extension and, at the other end, a hook. The extension presents a projecting part, of transverse dimension less than that of the free edge of the hook and capable of cooperating with pre-hooking means when the clamp fitting is in non-tightened state. The free edge of the hook presents a notch, of dimensions adapted to those of the projecting part and offset with respect to the latter in the transverse sense of the band. A portion of the free edge of the hook is located in line with the projecting part and is capable of being hooked therebehind.

  • Patent number: 5320043
Abstract: The invention relates to a low-vulnerability explosive munitions element comprising a casing containing a multicomposition explosive charge, the innermost layer of which is a composite explosive comprising a filled polyurethane or polyester polymer matrix, the filling of which contains more than 20% by weight of organic nitrate explosive, and the peripheral layer of which is a pyrotechnic composition of the family of composite solid propellants comprising a filled polyurethane or polyester polymer matrix the filling of which contains at least one mineral oxidant and less than 17% by weight of organic nitrate explosive. The blast and/or bubble effect produced is close to that produced by the much more-vulnerable charge of monocomposition composite explosive of equivalent mass. The invention also relates to a method for obtaining a blast and/or bubble effect by releasing in the casing of an aforementioned munitions element according to the invention, and then rupture of the casing.

  • Patent number: 4086437
Abstract: A synchronization circuit for a system in which digital coded data is received by an exchange from a transmitting station in time division multiplex form and is transmitted in time division multiplex form. In such a system, the incoming data is received at a clock rate dependent on the clock of the transmitting station and is stored in a memory at that rate. Read out from the memory is at the exchange rate. Since only one operation in the memory, either read or write, can occur at a time, control must be imposed to separate in time the reading and writing operations. To provide this separation, a time shift equal in duration to one time slot is introduced to delay the later-started of two operations.

  • Patent number: 4076964
Abstract: Synchronization control circuit for a time divisional data transmitting and receiving system. Data is received at an exchange at a clock rate determined by the transmitting station and is stored in memory at that rate. Read-out of data from the memory is based on the internal clock rate of the exchange. Since only one operation -- read or write -- can occur on a memory at any one time and the operations are controlled at rates which may be out of synchronism with one another, conflicts may occur. To prevent such conflicts, a time shift of predetermined duration is inserted between operations when the out-of-synchronism interval is less than a predetermined time interval.

  • Patent number: 3986166
Abstract: An alarm system for automobiles, which is actuated when an unauthorized person tampers with the automobile. An inductive coupling is made with the automobile electrical system so that a variation in current flow in the system activates the alarm. An actuating switch of the reed type is made operative by the driver utilizing a magnet. A deenergizing switch, of the reed type, located remotely from the actuating switch is used to make the system inactive at the driver's option. An auxiliary reed type switch is located adjacent the deenergizing switch and activates the alarm if an unauthorized person attempts to use the deenergizing switch.
