  • Patent number: 4517708
Abstract: The present invention relates to a re-usable clamp constituted by a wound over strap of metal and comprising, near to the two ends of the strap, two radial folds or lugs projecting externally from the strap, the first of said lugs extending into a portion which follows the periphery of the clamp to constitute a sole-plate extending at least over the distance separating the two lugs, whereas the second lug is also provided with an extension which is substantially parallel to the periphery of the clamp and situated at a distance therefrom which is nearly equal to the height of one lug; the sole-plate extending from the first lug is provided with at least one asperity projecting externally from the strap and designed to cooperate, when the clamp is in a closed but untightened position, with the bearing part of a recess correspondingly provided in the strap behind the second lug.

  • Patent number: 4108071
Abstract: A cutting device for producing a cutting jet from a shaped charge in a cavity of revolution comprising a body provided with a blind hole of revolution constituted from the bottom by a cylindrical-conical portion whose conical surface is defined by a conical liner surmounted by cylindrical portions of different diameters for supporting a member of revolution having two channels parallel to the axis of the blind hole. A tubular space is formed above the channels and the channels and the space between the member of revolution and the liner are filled with explosive, the tubular space being surmounted by a detonator. The plane of the two channels define the direction of the cutting jet.

  • Patent number: 4086437
Abstract: A synchronization circuit for a system in which digital coded data is received by an exchange from a transmitting station in time division multiplex form and is transmitted in time division multiplex form. In such a system, the incoming data is received at a clock rate dependent on the clock of the transmitting station and is stored in a memory at that rate. Read out from the memory is at the exchange rate. Since only one operation in the memory, either read or write, can occur at a time, control must be imposed to separate in time the reading and writing operations. To provide this separation, a time shift equal in duration to one time slot is introduced to delay the later-started of two operations.

  • Patent number: 4076964
Abstract: Synchronization control circuit for a time divisional data transmitting and receiving system. Data is received at an exchange at a clock rate determined by the transmitting station and is stored in memory at that rate. Read-out of data from the memory is based on the internal clock rate of the exchange. Since only one operation -- read or write -- can occur on a memory at any one time and the operations are controlled at rates which may be out of synchronism with one another, conflicts may occur. To prevent such conflicts, a time shift of predetermined duration is inserted between operations when the out-of-synchronism interval is less than a predetermined time interval.

  • Patent number: 4057026
Abstract: A pyrotechnic cutter for cutting an object such as a buoy-rope, tube, cable or the like and adapted to be mounted on a submarine vehicle, and including a fixed arm containing an explosive charge having a dihedral covering, and a second arm pivotally mounted to the fixed arm through a body portion which operatively engages an ejector which is adapted for engagement in the free end of a gun barrel, the ejector having an electrical circuit and a pyrotechnic circuit for ejecting the body having the arms, and detonating the explosive charge after a suitable time lag, so that explosion of the charge cuts the object.

  • Patent number: 3986166
Abstract: An alarm system for automobiles, which is actuated when an unauthorized person tampers with the automobile. An inductive coupling is made with the automobile electrical system so that a variation in current flow in the system activates the alarm. An actuating switch of the reed type is made operative by the driver utilizing a magnet. A deenergizing switch, of the reed type, located remotely from the actuating switch is used to make the system inactive at the driver's option. An auxiliary reed type switch is located adjacent the deenergizing switch and activates the alarm if an unauthorized person attempts to use the deenergizing switch.

  • Patent number: 3956948
Abstract: A sharpening machine for root-cutter knives is disclosed. The machine generally comprises a jaw device for supporting a knife to be sharpened, the knife having a serrated edge which is to be sharpened. A magazine for the holding the knives to be sharpened is utilized along with a device for feeding the knives singly from the magazine to the jaw device. Both rough sharpening and fine sharpening devices are utilized, each of the devices having a milling device utilizing a rotating milling cutter. The jaw device is rotatably mounted on a shaft in parallel relationship with the rotating shaft of the milling cutter, and apparatus is provided to periodically swing the jaw device about the shaft between a position where the knife engages the milling cutter and a rest position where no engagement takes place. Additionally, the device utilizes a mechanism for stepwise movement of the milling cutter relative to the jaw device, as well as a cam shaft for controlling the swinging of the jaw device.
