Abstract: A user device may receive a web page having multiple different types of content (e.g., text, images, videos, etc.). The user device may identify the different types of content, and may generate reformatted pages that each include a particular type of content associated with the web page. For instance, one reformatted page may include text content of the web page, without including image content of the web page (and/or vice versa). The reformatted pages may include resized and/or repositioned versions of the original content (e.g., resized and/or reformatted images and/or text).

Abstract: An exemplary mobile device activation system may receive, by way of a mobile device not currently activated on a mobile network, a request to initiate an activation process to activate the mobile device on the mobile network, authenticate the mobile device to a user account associated with the mobile network, establish an activation session with the authenticated mobile device, receive, during the activation session and by way of the authenticated mobile device, user input indicating a user-selected activation parameter for the authenticated mobile device, and activate the authenticated mobile device on the mobile network based on the user-selected activation parameter for the authenticated mobile device.

Abstract: A mobile taxi dispatch system may receive a request for a taxi vehicle from a user, select one or more taxi vehicles to contact in response to receiving the request and send the request to the selected one or more taxi vehicles. The mobile taxi dispatch system may further receive acceptances of the request from at least one of selected one or more taxi vehicles, select a particular taxi vehicle from the at least one of the selected one or more taxi vehicles that accepted the request. The selecting may be based on one or more criteria. The mobile taxi dispatch system may also send a confirmation to the user and to the particular taxi.

The device may display, via a display of the device, the multiple interface layers in a manner that permits user interactions with more than one interface layer of the multiple interface layers. The device may detect a user interaction with an interface layer of the multiple interface layers displayed via the display. The device may adjust the manner in which the multiple interface layers are displayed based on the user interaction.

The content request may identify content to be obtained via a data connection. The device may filter the content request, based on the one or more preferences, to generate a filtered request. The device may obtain the content based on the filtered request and via a data connection. The device may process the content to prepare the content for providing in a text message. The device may provide the content to the mobile device in a text message after processing the content.

Abstract: Systems and methods for efficiently searching for applications on a mobile device are presented. A user may be provided with an interface on the display screen of his mobile device. The interface may display a collection of categories associated with one or more applications. If the user selects a category, the interface may display a collection of one or more subcategories associated with the selected category, and a selectable cursor that is configured to allow the user to select one of the subcategories by moving the cursor through a grid in the interface. In response to the user selecting one of the subcategories, the interface may display a collection of applications associated with the selected subcategory, and the user may select one of the applications using the selectable cursor and grid. A user can select an application to purchase and/or download onto his mobile device.

Abstract: A voicemail application includes a first stage having a first voicemail and at a first position, a second stage having a second voicemail and at a second position adjacent to the first position, and a third stage having a third voicemail and at a third position adjacent to the second position. The voicemail application also includes a playback control configured to cause playback of any voicemail associated with any stage at the first position. The voicemail application increases the surface area of a stage as that stage is brought to the first position while the surface area of the stage previously at the first position decreases.

Abstract: Exemplary multi-screen casting systems and methods are disclosed. For example, systems and methods for casting a graphical user interface display of a mobile device to a display screen associated with a set-top-box device are disclosed. An exemplary method includes a multi-screen casting system establishing a multi-screen display relationship between a mobile device and a set-top-box device, identifying data associated with a graphical user interface display of the mobile device, and transmitting the identified data associated with the graphical user interface display of the mobile device to the set-top-box device for display by a display device associated with the set-top-box device. Corresponding methods and systems are also disclosed.

Abstract: A mobile device, such as a smart phone, receives program instructions, such as program instructions to evaluate components and/or software in the mobile device. The mobile device detects a local network and determines whether an attribute of the local network matches a desired attribute, such as a service set identifier (SSID) identified in the program instructions. When the attribute of the local network matches the desired attribute, the mobile device executes the program instructions. If the attribute of the local network does not match the desired attribute, the mobile device continues to look for a matching local network before executing the program instructions.
