Abstract: Systems and methods for providing mobile device security are disclosed. In some implementations, a request for access to a security mechanism is received at a user terminal. A short-range radio connection of the user terminal at a time of receiving the request for access is identified responsive to the request. A memory of the user terminal is accessed to determine whether the identified short-range radio connection corresponds to a user-identified secure radio connection. Upon determining that the radio connection corresponds to the user-identified secure radio connection, the user is granted access to the security mechanism without soliciting the user of the user terminal for a predetermined security input. Upon determining that the radio connection does not correspond to the user-identified secure radio connection, the user is solicited for the predetermined security input.

Abstract: A voicemail application includes a first stage having a first voicemail and at a first position, a second stage having a second voicemail and at a second position adjacent to the first position, and a third stage having a third voicemail and at a third position adjacent to the second position. The voicemail application also includes a playback control configured to cause playback of any voicemail associated with any stage at the first position. The voicemail application increases the surface area of a stage as that stage is brought to the first position while the surface area of the stage previously at the first position decreases.

Abstract: A device may obtain information associated with a traffic light. The traffic light may control a flow of traffic associated with a first location. The device may obtain travel information associated with a mobile device and determine, based on the travel information, that the mobile device is located at a second location, that is different from the first location, and is traveling toward the first location. The device may determine a projected status of the traffic light based on the information associated with the traffic light and the travel information. The projected status of the traffic light indicating a status of the traffic light at a time the mobile device is projected to arrive at the first location. The device may transmit information identifying the projected status to the mobile device.

Abstract: A device may determine a baseline size of a font, obtain a distance between a user and a mobile device when the baseline size is determined, determine, via a sensor, a current distance between the mobile device and the user, determine a target size of the font based on the current distance, the distance, and the baseline size, set a current size of the font to the target size of the font, and display, on the mobile device, characters in the font having the target size.

Abstract: Systems and methods for efficiently searching for applications on a mobile device are presented. A user may be provided with an interface on the display screen of his mobile device. The interface may display a collection of categories associated with one or more applications. If the user selects a category, the interface may display a collection of one or more subcategories associated with the selected category, and a selectable cursor that is configured to allow the user to select one of the subcategories by moving the cursor through a grid in the interface. In response to the user selecting one of the subcategories, the interface may display a collection of applications associated with the selected subcategory, and the user may select one of the applications using the selectable cursor and grid. A user can select an application to purchase and/or download onto his mobile device.

Abstract: A device receives medical data associated with a user of the device, and creates a body template based on the received medical data, where the body template includes layers that are representations of a human body associated with the user. The device also displays the body template to the user, where the user is capable of manipulating one or more layers of the body template in order to review the medical data.

Abstract: A device may determine an application shortcut and a set of specified conditions, where the application shortcut is to be presented on a home screen of a user device when the set of specified conditions is satisfied. The device may determine a set of current conditions associated with the user device, and may present the application shortcut on the home screen of the user device based on the set of current conditions satisfying the set of specified conditions.

Abstract: In an exemplary method, contacts data for a network address book is maintained, data representative of at least a portion of a local address book maintained on an access device is received over a network, and the received local address book data is used to perform at least one connected address book operation. In one example in which the contacts data includes data representative of a network address book listing associated with a user, data representative of a persona associated with the user is maintained, a request to access the network address book listing is received, and at least a subset of the data representative of the network address book listing is identified and provided in response to the request and based at least in part on the persona.

Abstract: A method, performed by a mobile communication device, may include receiving a request to call a contact; determining a location associated with the contact; determining a local time associated with the contact based on the determined location; and determining an appropriateness level for calling the contact, based on the determined local time. The method may further include generating a graphical representation that relates a local time associated with the mobile communication device, the local time associated with the contact, and an indication of the determined appropriateness level for calling the contact.

Abstract: Exemplary image calibration systems and methods are described herein. An exemplary method includes an image calibration system receiving data representative of an input camera image, detecting a face of a person represented in the input camera image, determining a predefined skin tone template associated with the person, and modifying the input camera image to change an appearance of the face of the person based on the predefined skin tone template associated with the person. In certain embodiments, the modification changes one or more skin tones represented by an image of the face of the person in the camera image based on the predefined skin tone template. Corresponding methods and systems are also disclosed.

Abstract: A server device may receive one or more event instruction schedules. Each of the one or more event instruction schedules may identify one or more events and corresponding instructions. The server may receive location information identifying a location of a user device; identify a particular schedule of the one or more event instruction schedules based on the location; identify an occurrence of an event of the one or more events identified by the particular schedule; identify a particular corresponding instruction for the event; and direct the user device to execute the corresponding instruction based on the occurrence of the of the one or more events. The server device may cause the user device to execute the corresponding instruction to function as a component in a combined display or in a combined sound outputting system having multiple user devices in addition to the user device.

Abstract: Systems and methods for managing user interface elements using gestures are disclosed. In some implementations, a block representing a plurality of user interface elements is displayed on a touch screen of a device. A first gesture initiated at a position corresponding to the block representing the plurality of the user interface elements is received via the touch screen. A first path corresponding to the first gesture is stored in a memory. At least a portion of the plurality of user interface elements are displayed on the touch screen in positions along the first path.

Abstract: A system for layered-based image updates is disclosed. In the system, a server may receive information corresponding to a modification to an image made by a user; generate a layer that includes the modification to the image; store the layer; and publish the image as an updated image, including the layer, to cause a user device to display the updated image, information identifying the user, and an indication that the user is associated with the layer.

Abstract: A method may include receiving, from a user, information identifying a first color, and identifying a first item having the first color to be output to a display. The method may also include generating information associated with the first item, the generated information including at least one of a pattern, text, a graphical symbol or an icon that will be used to identify the first color. Abstract: A system and method for displaying marketing content at a predetermined location and at a predetermined time is disclosed. The marketing content may be displayed on a mobile vehicle unit and also distributed to a mobile device within the proximity of the mobile vehicle unit. Various categories or criteria may be tagged to the marketing content and may be displayed or distributed only when the various criteria are satisfied. The displays may be mobile or non-mobile and the marketing content, or variations of the marketing content, may be displayed on both the mobile displays or non-mobile displays, either at the same time or at different times.

Abstract: A video image capture component includes a light source operable in a first spectrum, a first image detector operable in the first spectrum, a second light source operable in a second spectrum, and a second image detector operable in the second spectrum. A filtering component generates a combination image by filtering a first image obtained by the first image detector with a high-contrast filter, resulting in a high-contrast image, and masking a second image obtained by the second image detector using the high-contrast image. A compositing component creates a composite image from the combination image and a selected image. A display component displays the composite image. Alternative systems and methods for creating a combination image include techniques involving thermal imaging, laser detection, and narrow band frequency detection.

Abstract: Systems and methods for determining a community emotional response are disclosed. In some implementations, a plurality of user feedback items for an online content are received. The user feedback items describe reactions of users to the online content. A user's emotional response associated with each of the plurality of user feedback items is determined. The emotional responses are aggregated to determine a community emotional response to the online content. A signal is transmitted for displaying, on a display unit and in association with the online content, of a visual indication of the community emotional response to the online content.

Abstract: A device is configured to determine that the device is to activate a privacy mode, obscure information displayed by a display of the device, detect a user interaction with a first portion of the display, the first portion being less than an entirety of the display, and reveal first information obscured by the first portion of the display, without revealing information obscured by a remaining portion of the display, the first portion and the remaining portion comprising the entirety of the display.
