Abstract: A latch device includes a biaxial hinge, a horizontal hinge latch mechanism, a vertical hinge latch mechanism, a common latch mechanism, a swing actuation handle, and a flap actuation handle is provided on a tailgate for realizing selective movement about both a vertical axis and a horizontal axis. A first disengagement detection unit detects disengagement of the horizontal hinge latch mechanism and a second disengagement detection unit that detects disengagement of the vertical hinge latch mechanism. A tailgate release-latch unit disables the actuation of the flap actuation handle upon detection of the disengaged condition of the horizontal hinge latch mechanism by the first disengagement detection unit, and swing actuation handle upon detection of the disengaged condition of the vertical hinge latch mechanism by the second disengagement detection unit.

Abstract: A door apparatus includes a door having a hole and configured to be slidable with respect to a vehicle body, a member configured to open and close the hole, a first detector configured to detect a position of the member relative to the hole to determine an openness of the hole, a second detector configured to detect a position of the door relative to the body, and a unit configured to be activated to project from one to another of the body and the door, so as to abut on the another such that the door is stopped from sliding in an opening direction, when the openness is greater than a threshold, and the position is between a full-closed position and a midway position.

Abstract: A door system includes a front door and a rear door that are configured to shut together a continuous opening in a vehicle body; a striker configured to be inserted in both the front door and the rear door so as to couple the front door and the rear door when the continuous opening is shut by the front door and the rear door. When at least one of the front door and the rear door is opened, the striker is drawn out from one of the front door and the rear door so as to cancel the coupling between the front door and the rear door.

Abstract: A sliding door apparatus includes a sliding door having a window and slidably disposed with respect to a body of a vehicle, a foreign object detecting unit that detects whether a foreign object exists in the open area, and a slide stopping unit that stops, upon the foreign object detecting unit detecting existence of the foreign object, sliding of the sliding door in the opening direction before the sliding door reaches a full-open position.

Abstract: A striker for a vehicle door latch device comprises a metal base plate fastened to a vehicle body, a U-shaped metal rod fastened to the base plate and projected toward a vehicle door, and a block member formed on the base plate. The block member comprises a block stay projected from the base plate toward the door and a block portion formed at a tip of the block stay. The block portion is opposed to an inside metal panel of the door when the door is closed. The block portion is brought into contact with the inside metal panel, when the inside metal panel is deformed by an external force to approach the base plate.

Abstract: A mounting apparatus comprises a resin part, an attaching hole formed in the resin part, a metallic pin having an anchor inserted into the attaching hole and an exposure portion. Both sides of the attaching hole are opened to an outside of the resin part. The anchor penetrates the resin part through the attaching hole, and a tip end of the anchor is in the outside of the resin part. The exposure portion has a first supporting portion continued with the anchor, a second supporting portion, a flange located between the first and second supporting portions, and a projection continued with the second supporting portion. First and second levers are rotatably fitted on the first and second supporting portions, respectively. A base seat makes a contact with the tip end of the anchor when the anchor is inserted into the attaching hole.

Abstract: An outer open handle assembly for a vehicle door comprises a handle base secured to a door outer panel by means of a first fastener, an outer opening handle rotatably attached to the handle base, a cylindrical attaching portion integrally formed with a rear surface of the handle base, a door key cylinder inserted into the attaching portion, and a U-shaped retainer having a first leg part, a second leg part, a U-shaped engaging part. The attaching portion has a first slit, and the key cylinder has a second slit. The handle base has a supporting portion to which a tip end of the first leg part is rotatably attached by a second fastener, and a boss part with which the first fastener is engaged. The engaging part is engaged with the first and second slits to secure the key cylinder to the attaching portion when the retainer is rotated about the second fastener as a center. A tip end of the second leg part is supported on the first and second slits.
