    Abstract: A motor driving device having a lock protection mode includes a rotation speed detecting unit, an operating unit, a driving unit, a floating point selecting unit, a BEMF detecting unit, a control unit, and a lock protection unit. The operating unit enters an operating mode after a motor is stably operated, and generates an operating signal having phases according to a commutation sequence, and the driving unit drives the motor. The BEMF detecting unit detects a BEMF of a first floating phase to generate a detection result. The control unit outputs a commutation signal to cause the driving unit to drive the motor. When the rotation speed detecting unit determines that a rotation speed of the motor exceeds a predetermined rotation speed, the rotation speed detecting unit outputs a switching signal to the lock protection unit to enter the lock protection mode.

According to the converter, an active power filter circuit is provided between upper and lower arms of each phase in a modular multilevel converter. The active power filter circuit includes two switch power devices, two submodules, a capacitor, and an inductor. The upper and lower bridge-arms are connected in series by means of two submodules, the two switch power devices are connected in series and then connected in parallel to ends of intermediate submodules which are connected in series, and the capacitor and the inductor are connected in series and then connected in parallel to two ends of the switch power device connected to the lower bridge-arm. The defect of large capacitance of submodule in conventional modular multilevel topology is overcome.

    Abstract: Direct current-direct current (DC-DC) converters including buck converters are described. These DC-DC converters may be configured to reduce oscillations that would otherwise arise in the output reference voltage due to ringing effects without significantly lengthening the duration of the transient period. These DC converters may leverage a feedback voltage generated by sensing the current flowing through the inductor of the buck converter. The feedback voltage may compared to a threshold, and the signal resulting from the comparison may be used to vary the reference voltage. The DC-DC converter may be operated in a “partial reset mode,” in which the voltage generated by sensing the inductor's current is reduced to a value greater than zero in response to the feedback voltage reaching the threshold. Reducing the sense voltage in this manner may reduce the duration of the transient period.
