    Abstract: A mounting apparatus includes a bracket for fixing a data storage device, a handle pivotably mounted to the bracket, and a resisting member movably attached to an outer surface of the bracket. The handle includes a pressing portion. The resisting member includes a resisting portion and a connecting portion formed from one end of the resisting portion. When the handle is operated to pivot toward the bracket, the pressing portion resists against the connecting portion to bias the resisting portion to be deformed away from the outer surface of the bracket.

    Abstract: A semiconductor device and a method for fabricating the semiconductor device are disclosed. An isolation structure is formed in a substrate and a gate stack is formed atop the isolation structure. A spacer is formed adjoining a sidewall of the gate stack and extends beyond an edge of the isolation structure. The disclosed method provides an improved method for protecting the isolation structure by using the spacer. The spacer can prevent the isolation structure from being damaged by chemicals, therefor, to enhance contact landing and upgrade the device performance.

    Abstract: A surgical light includes a light guide plate and a plurality of LEDs. The light guide plate has a light incident surface, a reflecting surface and a light exit surface. The reflecting surface defines an optical axis passing through the center of the light guide plate. A plurality of reflecting structures are formed on the reflecting surface, and are distributed symmetrically about the optical axis. The light emitted by the plurality of LEDs enters the light guide plate in the same direction, is then reflected by the reflecting structures, and exits from the light exit surface. The exited light defines a plurality of focal points, which are spaced apart from the conducting plate at different distances and cooperatively define a predetermined depth of focus so that an object within the depth of focus can receive adequate luminous intensity.

    Abstract: Provided herein are rodents that express the human endosialin gene. In preferred embodiments, the rodent is a mouse. Preferably, the human endosialin gene is integrated into the native or endogenous endosialin gene locus. More preferably, the host rodent is null for the endogenous endosialin gene product. The human endosialin gene is preferably expressed in a similar development and disease response pattern as that of the native endosialin gene product in parental or wild type rodents. This feature makes these rodents useful for studying the effects of test agents to positively or negatively affect endosialin biology for therapeutic use. Use of human endosialin expressing rodents lacking native endosialin gene product (HUE rodents) is proposed as a strategy for developing agents that can positively or negatively affect the endosialin pathway and also serve as a screening tool to identify those agents that may be useful as human therapies.

    Abstract: A method for manufacturing a MOS transistor is provided. A substrate has a high-k dielectric layer and a barrier in each of a first opening and a second opening formed by removing a dummy gate and located in a first transistor region and a second transistor region. A dielectric barrier layer is formed on the substrate and filled into the first opening and the second opening to cover the barrier layers. A portion of the dielectric barrier in the first transistor region is removed. A first work function metal layer is formed. The first work function metal layer and a portion of the dielectric barrier layer in the second transistor region are removed. A second work function metal layer is formed. The method can avoid a loss of the high-k dielectric layer to maintain the reliability of a gate structure, thereby improving the performance of the MOS transistor.
