  • Publication number: 20040024037
Abstract: An antibiotic additive and an ink composition including the antibiotic additive include a compound produced by binding of an antibiotic substance having the following formula (I) to a predetermined additive via a chemical reaction. The ink composition includes a colorant, a solvent and an antibiotic additive produced by binding of an antibiotic substance having the following formula (I) to a predetermined additive via a chemical reaction. The antibiotic additive prevents surface dry, improves storage stability and inhibits propagation and growth of bacteria in an ink and has excellent compatibility with a general dye or pigment.

  • Patent number: 6649675
Abstract: A metallic gloss image composition including a hydromorphic solvent and a polsulfurnitride derivative dissolved in the hydromorphic solvent. The polysulfurnitride derivative has the following formula: R1—(—S═N—)n—R2. Instead of the hydromorphic solvent, a thermoplastic renis formed by polymerization of monomers can be used to obtain the metallic gloss image composition.

  • Publication number: 20030124273
Abstract: A printing medium has a base layer, an ink receptive layer coated on the base layer, and an undercoating layer formed between the base layer and the ink receptive layer. The undercoating layer has a highly glossy resin property. Accordingly, regardless of a type of a material that is used in the base layer, the printing medium always offers rapid ink absorption, a vivid color image, excellent color fixation, a high water and light resistance, and high glossiness.

  • Patent number: 6582501
Abstract: An ink composition for ink-jet printers is provided which includes a chromophore, a solvent, a co-solvent, a humectant, a surfactant, a viscosity adjuster and an additive. The additive is a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compound. This nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compound has the hydroxy groups which improve miscibility with water, thereby preventing clogging of nozzles during use. The present invention increases the affinity for dye used as a chromophore and for the hydroxy groups of paper after discharging of ink, which allows the chromophore to easily fix on the paper, thus enhancing smearfastness of the ink composition after printing.

  • Patent number: 6077881
Abstract: An ink composition for an ink jet printer. The ink composition contains an oligomeric dispersant, a pigment and a solvent. The oligomeric dispersant simultaneously has a hydrophilic group capable of interacting with water soluble solvent and an anchoring group capable of interacting with the pigment. The ink composition provides good printing properties, water fastness, light fastness and storage stability, by using less amount of dispersant.
