Abstract: Mass based methods and systems for estimating soot load in a filter of an after-treatment system for exhaust stream are provided. The after-treatment system can comprise a sensor, a filter, and a processor configured to estimate soot load in the filter based on a mass based multi-layer model. An example system includes a virtual sensor comprising an estimator for providing information corresponding to a filter outlet NO2 concentration. An example method includes the steps of providing the mass based multi-layer model, passing the exhaust stream through the filter, and using the sensor to monitor a condition of the exhaust stream. The example method further includes the steps of calculating a total regeneration rate based on the multi-layer model by solving a second-order ordinary differential equation with a plurality of parameters using an analytical approach, and estimating the soot load based on the calculated total regeneration rate.

  • Publication number: 20120049415
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for microwave drying of green cellular ceramic bodies (logs) using feedback and feed forward control are disclosed. The methods include measuring an amount of dissipated microwave power and measuring temperatures of the logs and inputting this information into a drying model. The drying model accounts for at least a heat capacitance, a water content and a mass of the logs, and relates changes in the dissipated microwave power to changes in the log temperature. The changes in microwave power generated by the adjustable microwave source are thus based on the calculated dissipated power changes.

  • Publication number: 20110253963
Abstract: The present invention is a device for use by infants or pets which provides a fence for use by infants or pets to confine their activities within a restricted area so that caring of the infants or pets can become easier. The present invention comprises an assembly of fence plates rotatable in relation to each other, wherein the adjacent fence plates are assembled with each other by means of a rotating axle. The fence has a bottom portion which is disposed with fixing members. The present invention assembles a plurality of the fence plates to form a fence. The fence is fixed on the ground by the fixing members to prevent it from sliding. When infants or pets are put into an area restricted by the fence, they can enjoy sufficient rooms for activities. It is also possible to prevent the infants or pets from escaping out of the fence and to confine their activities within a restricted area, thus accidents due to absence of care could be avoided.

  • Patent number: 8020314
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for drying ceramic green bodies include providing one or more ceramic green bodies in a microwave heating chamber operatively connected to a microwave source and a PLC. The total mass of the ceramic green bodies present in the microwave heating chamber is determined. Microwave energy is generated with the microwave source and transmitted from the microwave source to the microwave heating chamber. A transmitted power of the microwave energy transmitted from the microwave source to the microwave heating chamber is measured with power sensors. The reflected power of reflected microwave energy reflected back from the microwave heating chamber is also measured. The power of the microwave energy transmitted from the microwave source to the microwave heating chamber is adjusted based on the total mass of ceramic green bodies present in the microwave heating chamber, the measured transmitted power and the measured reflected power.

  • Publication number: 20110073822
Abstract: A hydraulic jack capable of displaying load and overload warning, belonging to the technical field of hydraulic lifting equipment. It comprises: a base, a lifting arm, a pump body, a handle, and a tray, wherein, a signal collection assembly designed to sense the load on the tray is arranged at the end of the lifting arm, and the signal collection assembly is electrically connected to a weighing controller arranged on either the base or the pump body, and the tray is arranged on the signal collection assembly. Since a signal collection assembly designed to sense the load on the tray is arranged at the end of the lifting arm and electrically connected to the weighing controller, the load sensing method by the aid of communication with the oil circuit in the prior art is abandoned and the leakage of hydraulic oil can be avoided; since the signal collection assembly is arranged at the end of the lifting arm, the entire assembly can be easily processed, installed, and maintained.
