  • Publication number: 20100091210
Abstract: The invention discloses a TFT-LCD and its driving method, TFT-LCD comprises an array substrate and a color filter substrate, a common electrode on said color filter substrate being divided into multiple columns, each of which corresponding to one column of pixels; on color filter substrate, odd number columns are first common electrodes, even number columns are second common electrodes; difference between voltages input to said first common electrodes and said second common electrodes is larger than zero and less than dynamic range of driving voltage of liquid crystal driving voltage-transmittance curve. By setting two common electrode voltages, TFT-LCD and its driving method provided by the invention can make dynamic range of input voltage required for driving liquid crystal display device be smaller than dynamic range of driving voltage of liquid crystal driving voltage-transmittance curve, thus reducing power consumption during driving the liquid crystal.

  • Patent number: 7684001
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display panel is provided. A photo-alignment layer is formed on a first substrate. Patterned pixel electrodes including intersected electrodes and stripe electrodes are formed on a second substrate. A liquid crystal layer is formed between the photo-alignment layer and the patterned pixel electrodes. Each intersected electrode has a first directional portion and a second directional portion interlacing thereto. The stripe electrodes with silts connect the first and/or the second directional portions. When an electric field between the first and the second substrates is substantially zero, liquid crystal molecules near the photo-alignment layer are arranged at a pre-tilt angle, while those disposed at another side near the second substrate are substantially perpendicular to the second substrate. As the liquid crystal layer is driven, the liquid crystal molecules of the liquid crystal layer are substantially arranged along an extending direction of the slits.

  • Patent number: 7681088
Abstract: An apparatus and computer instructions are provided for expressing high availability (H/A) cluster demand based on probability of breach. When a failover occurs in the H/A cluster, event messages are sent to a provisioning manager server. The mechanism of embodiments of the present invention filters the event messages and translates the events into probability of breach data. The mechanism then updates the data model of the provision manager server and makes a recommendation to the provisioning manager server as to whether reprovisioning of new node should be performed. The provisioning manager server makes the decision and either reprovisions new nodes to the H/A cluster or notifies the administrator of detected poisoning problem.
