  • Patent number: 8306346
Abstract: A static image compression method, a computer readable data structure, and a computer readable storage medium are described. Firstly, an image is segmented into a plurality of sub-images. Then, each sub-image is sequentially compressed into a sub-data frame having a start character, so as to generate a compressed data with the sub-data frames interconnected according to a sequence of the sub-images. Finally, the addresses of the start characters are recorded to generate an index data. Thereby, the start character of a particular block can be obtained from the index data, and the sub-image of the particular block is preferentially decoded and displayed.

  • Patent number: 7957468
Abstract: A method for processing a motion image comprises of receiving a plurality of frames of a motion image, and dividing each frame into a plurality of macro blocks. Then, one of the macro blocks defines a comparing block. The pixels in the comparing block of a current frame are processed using a SAD operation with the pixels in a macro block in a searching of the pre-frame to obtain a SAD threshold value. In addition, the present invention lets the pixels in the comparing block process a SAD operation with the macro block that has not yet been processed by a SAD operation, thus obtaining an accumulation value of a plurality of the SAD values. When the accumulation value is greater than or equal to the SAD threshold value, the SAD operation is interrupted.

  • Patent number: 7652433
Abstract: A method for prolonging the life span of a planar light source generating apparatus is provided. The planar light source generating apparatus forms an emitting layer not only on a plurality of cathodes but on a plurality of gates as well. Moreover, an anode of the planar light source generating apparatus is electrically connected to a current sensor for reading out a maximum current density when the planar light source generating apparatus operates. To operate the planar light source generating apparatus, a DC square voltage is applied to the cathodes (or gates) while the gates (or the cathodes) are electrically connected to a ground. Once the current density detected by the current sensor drops to a definite ratio of the maximum value, the external voltage supplying the aforementioned cathodes and the gates are switched. Thus, the life span of the planar light source generating apparatus is prolonged.

  • Patent number: 7436608
Abstract: A focusing module includes a casing, at least one fixed magnetic element, a membrane, a movable magnetic element, and a lens. The fixed magnetic element is fixed in the casing for generating a first magnetic field. The membrane is received and retained in an upper section of the casing. The membrane defines a central hole. The movable magnetic element is attached to the membrane, surrounding the central hole of the membrane. The movable magnetic element receives a control signal and in response thereto generates a second magnetic field, which interacts with the first magnetic field of the fixed magnetic field to induce a force acting on the membrane to cause elastic deformation of the membrane. The lens is fixed to the central hole of the membrane whereby the lens is movable with respect to the casing due to the elastic deformation of the membrane caused by magnetic interaction between the first and second magnetic fields of the fixed and movable magnetic elements so as to effect focusing operation.
