  • Publication number: 20080317307
Abstract: Systems and methods for aligning objects in object sets are provided. An object set has objects that are in a corresponding image in a plurality of images. For each respective object in a first object set, a corresponding object group is constructed that contains the respective object, thereby constructing a plurality of object groups. Similarity metrics are computed between object groups and objects in objects sets in order to assign the objects to object groups. The object groups are then refined in order to align objects in the object sets.

  • Patent number: 7398645
Abstract: A compact reversing flow catalytic converter with protection from overheating includes a valve unit which directs exhaust gases through a container filled with catalytic material to permit a bypass of catalytic material when a temperature of the material exceeds a predetermined threshold. The container defines a U-shaped gas passage that communicates with two ports at the top of the container. The valve unit is mounted to the top of the container and includes an intake and an exhaust cavity. The valve unit includes a valve disk having two openings therethrough. The valve disk rotates around perpendicular central axis between a first, a second and third positions. When overheating of the catalytic material is predicted, a controller relinquishes control of the valve disk and a center return mechanism rotates the valve disk to a third position, in which each of the openings communicates with both ports so that the exhaust gas flow bypasses catalytic material.

  • Patent number: 7344836
Abstract: A method and apparatus designed for nucleic acid hybridization employs a hydrogen bond denaturation area with a higher temperature and a lower temperature nucleic acid hybridization area that is immobilized with nucleic acid probes. Nucleic acid-containing samples are introduced into the hydrogen bond denaturation area for heating curled nucleic acids in samples so that they become linear and are guided into the nucleic acid hybridization area. In this area, the nucleic acid hybridization rate can be multiplied by increasing the kinetic energy by the repeated flow of driven fluid. The nucleic acid hybridization apparatus provided by the invention contains a hydrogen bond denaturation area, a nucleic acid hybridization area, a two-way driving apparatus, and a temperature control element.
