  • Patent number: 4085714
Abstract: An electronic ignition timing adjusting system for an internal combustion engine designed to adjust the ignition timing of the engine through a wide range of speeds from the lower to higher engine rotational speeds. The point at which the crankshaft reaches a predetermined angular position and the point at which a capacitor which starts charging in relation to another angular position of the crankshaft discharges the voltage thereacross to a predetermined value are initially set. Of these two points, that which occurs earlier than the other is selected as the desired ignition point or timing and in this way constant and stable ignition timing is provided at the lower engine rotational speeds, while the ignition timing at the higher engine rotational speeds is adjusted with a high degree of accuracy, thereby providing on the whole the satisfactory ignition timing which follows up or response excellently to changes in the engine rotational speed.

  • Patent number: 4074566
Abstract: An intake air amount detecting device for an internal combustion engine has a temperature detector housing disposed in an intake pipe of the engine and defining first and second air passages in which first and second temperature detecting elements are disposed, respectively. An electric heater is disposed in the first air passage upstream of the first temperature detecting element. Sleeves of a resilient shock-absorbing material are interposed between the temperature detector housing and the electric heater and the first temperature detecting element and between the housing and the second temperature detecting element, respectively, whereby the heater and the temperature detecting elements are protected from shock, vibration and oscillation produced during operation of the engine and automobile on which the engine is mounted.

  • Patent number: 4042425
Abstract: A pretreatment of cold-rolled steel sheet for annealing so as to suppress graphite formation on the surface thereof and nitrogenization during the annealing for recrystallization, by causing an effective amount of sulfur, aluminum, tin, arsenic, lead, antimony, bismuth, selenium, and/or tellurium to exist on the steel sheet surface.

  • Patent number: 4020802
Abstract: A fuel injection system for an internal combustion engine of a type in which a stratified charge of rich air-fuel mixture and lean air-fuel mixture is supplied into the combustion chamber of each cylinder. The fuel injection system includes an electronic control unit whereby when air flow is decreased fuel is sequentially injected into the respective cylinders in accordance with their firing order, whereas when the air flow is increased the fuel is simultaneously injected into all the cylinders.

  • Patent number: 3975951
Abstract: There is provided an intake-air amount detecting system for an internal combustion engine in which a first temperature of an intake air for an internal combustion engine is measured, the intake-air is heated by an electrical heating element, a second temperature of the heated intake-air is measured, an amount of heat generated by the electrical heating element is adjusted to maintain a difference between the second temperature and the first temperature at a fixed value, and the amount of heat generated by the heating element is calculated to determine the amount of the intake-air to the internal combustion engine.
