  • Patent number: 11051330
Abstract: A base station may transmit downlink control information (DCI) scheduling communications between the base station and a UE. The DCI is in a fallback DCI format. Based on whether or not the DCI is in a UE specific search space with cyclic redundancy check (CRC) scrambled by a UE ID of the UE, data transmitted by the base station or by the UE according to the DCI may be scrambled by a sequence that is initialized with a configurable parameter, or initialized with a cell ID.

  • Patent number: 11051208
Abstract: Resources used for downlink communication may be partitioned by the base station so that a portion of the resources is reserved for the downlink transmission of low latency data. However, low latency data may be bursty or sporadic in nature, and may be transmitted in short packets. Therefore, there may not always be low latency data at the base station that needs to be transmitted using all of the low latency resources. System and methods are therefore disclosed in which the base station opportunistically schedules, on the low latency resources, latency tolerant data for one or more latency tolerant UEs. When latency tolerant data is scheduled on the low latency resources, signaling is used to indicate if the latency tolerant transmission on the low latency resources is modified.

  • Patent number: 11026224
Abstract: Devices and methods are provided for receiving a first indication and a second indication, the first indication associated with a first set of transmission parameter information for a first repetition of data received in a Physical Downlink Shared Channel (PDSCH) and the second indication associated with a second set of transmission parameter information for a second repetition of data received in the PDSCH. Each set of transmission parameter information corresponds to a Quasi-Co-Location (QCL) information for the respective repetition of data. In addition, the method involves receiving a first PDSCH repetition and a second PDSCH repetition. A channel estimate can then be performed for the first PDSCH repetition based on the QCL information for the first PDSCH repetition and a channel estimate for the second PDSCH repetition based on the QCL information for the second PDSCH repetition.

  • Patent number: 10952234
Abstract: In accordance to embodiments, a base station may transmit to a first user equipment (UE) a downlink control information (DCI) message for uplink (UL) scheduling of a second UE. The DCI message may indicate resources for sending a UL message by the second UE to the base station such that the first UE can at least partially decode the UL message based on the information in the DCI message. The base station may receive the UL message from the second UE. The base station may send a downlink (DL) message to the first UE. The UL message and the DL message may overlap at least partially in time and frequency. If the DL UE cannot successfully decode the UL message, the base station may send a helper message for the UL message to help the DL to decode the UL message.

  • Publication number: 20210076417
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure relate to integration of sensing and wireless communications. Wireless communication networks can configure and implement both sensing signals and communication signals. Sensing signals, or sensing reference signals, can be used to determine properties of the environment, and do not carry any information or data for the purpose of communications. Communication signals, on the other hand, are signals that carry information or data between network entities. Sensing agents can be used for both passive and active sensing. Sensing agents may be dedicated devices capable of performing passive sensing, active sensing, or both. Sensing agents can also be existing networks device such as user equipment or transmit receive points. Methodologies described here may be particularly beneficial for half-duplex systems, but could also be implemented in full duplex systems.

  • Patent number: 10925047
Abstract: When a user equipment (UE) is wirelessly communicating with a network, the wireless channel conditions may sometimes result in a low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). The low SNR may be a result of the UE having poor geometry, e.g. the UE is at a cell edge. It is desired to increase the reliability of wireless communications in low SNR conditions. In some embodiments, less information may be dynamically signaled in the downlink control information (DCI), thereby allowing for a possibly lower effective coding rate.
