Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems, methods and devices for the presentation of a user interface and operation of devices. In one embodiment, a method for assigning card elements of an application user interface to a device includes presenting a user interface, wherein the user interface is presented including graphical elements for one or more card elements, and wherein the user interface is presented including graphical elements for one or more devices. The method also includes detecting a user interface command to associate a selected card element presented by the user interface with a selected device presented by the user interface and outputting a communication including an association of the selected card element with the selected device. Another embodiment is directed to a device configured to run an application and configured for assigning card elements to other devices.

In one embodiment, device to device control includes establishing a connection with a second device, the second device identified by an application, determining one or more capabilities of the second device based on a capability matching of the application, wherein determining is based on an application profile for the second device and capabilities output by the second device and controlling operation based on one or more matched capabilities.

In one embodiment, a method for exchange of card elements includes presenting a user interface including a first area with graphical elements for one or more card elements associated with the device, a second area to display graphical elements for one or more card elements associated with a selected entity device, and a third area including graphical elements for one or more entities accessible to the device by way of the application. The notifications are visually appealing, employing a common theme and user interface. The notifications are less-intrusive, such that the user experience is improved. The notifications can provide additional information, function as links to destinations, and give the user multiple options, from which the user can make a selection. Actions taken by a user can be controlled and monitored to optimize user interaction with the notifications. By providing display device notifications to a user, the user is able to process important information on a display device in an improved way.

The method can also include transmitting a request for capabilities associated with the second device, receiving acknowledgement of the request for capabilities, and transmitting a control command to the second device formatted by the application based on the acknowledgement of the request for profile. In embodiments, a determination is made that the device is connected to a power source for charging the battery. In response to the determination, a battery charging indicator is displayed. In some embodiments, if the device was originally powered off or in a standby mode, after a predetermined period of time, the device will be powered off or returned to the standby mode, and the battery charging indicator will no longer be displayed.

These triggers include a transition trigger, an open trigger and a closed trigger. Furthermore, and based on one or more of these triggers and device state, the device can provide feedback to a user, such as visual feedback, audio feedback and vibration feedback to assist a user with determining when the device is changing state. The operation of the primary screen, secondary screen, system and feedback options are also described relative to the beginning and endpoint of the device transition. Furthermore, the trigger corresponding to a transitional trigger where primary and secondary screens have a certain angle orientation and the trigger corresponding to a trigger point where the primary and secondary screens have a second angle orientation relative to one another are described.
