  • Publication number: 20170372338
Abstract: A computer determines an RFM score for each of a plurality of contacts, each RFM value comprising a recency value, a frequency value and a monetary value respectively based on assigning recency values, frequency values, and monetary values of the plurality of contacts to a bin of a group of bins. The computer generates trend factors, based on patterns of sequences of transaction information and timestamps of each transaction for each contact of the plurality of contacts. The computer generates a trend factor, based on the patterns generated for each of the plurality of transactions for each contact of the plurality of contacts, and assigns contacts to generated increasing trend factor bins or decreasing trend factor bins based on applying the trend factor value to at least one of the recency score, the frequency score, and the monetary score, for each contact of the plurality of contacts.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for providing anti-theft protection for power tools. In one example of the techniques of the disclosure, at least one processor of a power tool receives, from an operator, a command to operate the power tool. In response to receiving the command, the at least one processor determines whether at least one of a value of a master authentication counter of the power tool and a value of a user authentication counter of the power tool has reached a predetermined threshold. In response to determining that the at least one of the value of the master authentication counter and the value of the user authentication counter has reached a predetermined threshold, the at least one processor disables the power tool.

  • Publication number: 20170349299
Abstract: In a method of loading checked luggage on unit load devices corresponding to an aircraft having a passenger compartment, each piece of checked luggage is associated with a unique identifier. Each piece of checked luggage is weighed and its weight is associated with its corresponding unique identifier. A best possible luggage placement is calculated considering a distribution of passenger weight, thereby allowing the passengers to sit at their preferred location rather than by pre-allocation. A desired placement of the checked luggage is calculated based on the weight of each piece of checked luggage, the acceptable distribution of weight in the passenger compartment and overall fuel state over mission profile.

  • Publication number: 20170351701
Abstract: Embodiments described herein provide techniques for maintaining consistency in a distributed system (e.g., a distributed secondary storage system). According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, a first set of file system objects included in performing the requested file system operation is identified in response to a request to perform a file system operation. An update intent corresponding to the requested file system operation is inserted into an inode associated with each identified file system object. Each file system object corresponding to the inode is modified as specified by the update intent in that inode. After modifying the file system object corresponding to the inode, the update intent is removed from that inode.

  • Publication number: 20170351226
Abstract: A cloud-based diagnosis and maintenance system facilitates discovery and indexing of plant-wide data residing on various data platforms across multiple industrial facilities. The system includes an indexing system that automatically inventories industrial devices and other data sources located throughout the facilities, and identifies available data items on each data source. The indexing system indexes the discovered data items in a federated data model that can subsequently be searched to locate data items or tags of interest. The diagnosis and maintenance system also includes analysis tools that facilitate cross-facility analysis of the data model, allowing performance metrics to be compared across similar automation systems at different facilities. The system can also generate recommendations for improving performance metrics based on results of the comparative analysis.

  • Patent number: 9838510
Abstract: A method of generating device-specific configuration data during the initial set up of a device comprises, during a configuration process running on the device, sending from the device a first message and including a device identifier to a server using a first mode of communication associable with a service identifier, sending from the device a second message including the device identifier to a server using a second mode of communication not associable with said service identifier, processing the first message to associate the device identifier with the service identifier, and processing the second message to query if the device identifier has been previously associated with the service identifier, and if so, sending device-specific configuration data to the device for use during the configuration process, wherein after the configuration process is completed, the device-specific configuration data enables authentication using said service identifier when the device uses said second mode of communication.

  • Publication number: 20170344590
Abstract: Techniques for cloning, writing to, and reading from file system metadata. Cloning involves identifying a first set of pointers included in a first root node in a file system metadata tree structure that stores file system metadata n leaf nodes of the tree structure, creating a first copy of the first root node that includes the first set of pointers, creating a second copy of the first root node that includes the first set of pointers, associating the first copy with a first view, and associating the second copy with a second view. Reading generally involves traversing the tree structure towards a target leaf node that contains data to be read. Writing generally involves traversing the tree structure n the same manner, but also creating copies of any nodes to be modified if those nodes are deemed to have a different treeID than a particular root node.
