  • Publication number: 20160353402
Abstract: The present techniques relate to reducing interference on conducted RF links by utilizing country information to determine where an electronic device is located, and using such information to select sub-bands or channels that are not available for wireless transmission to be used for transmission of signals via the conducted RF links. Because the conducted RF links operate on frequency bands that are different from the frequency bands used for wireless communications in a given country, there is less likelihood that wireless communications will create interference in the signals being transmitted via the conducted RF links.

  • Publication number: 20160353232
Abstract: Electronic devices may communicate with each other using a “conducted RF link.” Such a conducted RF link is essentially a link that utilizes a conductor or cable that facilitates communication between electronic devices. Instead of the conductor carrying a traditional signal, it carries a modulated RF signal, such as those produced by a typical wireless RF radio like presently available WiFi/Bluetooth® cores.

  • Patent number: 9508930
Abstract: The present invention relates generally to high current density access devices (ADs), and more particularly, to a structure and method of forming tunable voltage margin access diodes in phase change memory (PCM) blocks using layers of copper-containing mixed ionic-electronic conduction (MIEC) materials. Embodiments of the present invention may use layers MIEC material to form an access device that can supply high current-densities and operate reliably while being fabricated at temperatures that are compatible with standard BEOL processing. By varying the deposition technique and amount of MIEC material used, the voltage margin (i.e. the voltage at which the device turns on and the current is above the noise floor) of the access device may be tuned to specific operating conditions of different memory devices.

  • Publication number: 20160344664
Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatus are herein disclosed for enabling direct communication between two IRC clients without the use of an IRC server once the connection is established. In one instance this can involve a gateway electing to not mangle or not perform NAT on a private IP address of a sending client as a DCC request is passed to the IRC server. In another instance this can involve a gateway mangling or performing NAT on a sender public IP address of a DCC request after it has been passed to the IRC server and returned to the gateway. The clients can be SoftAP clients. The gateway can determine when to mangle and when not to mangle IP addresses using a database that include identifiers of IRC clients on a subnet along with respective IRC servers for those IRC clients.

  • Publication number: 20160337373
Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes receiving a request at a wireless access point from a client system to access a network through the wireless access point. The wireless access point sends an identifier associated with the client system to a social-networking system, the social-networking system including user profiles arranged in one or more social graphs. The social graphs store relationships between the user profiles. The method further includes receiving at the wireless access point from the social-networking system an authorization determination. The authorization determination is based upon a first user profile of the plurality of user profiles. The first user profile includes the identifier associated with the client system. • Publication number: 20160336970
Abstract: Embodiments relate to a system with multiple erasure codes, and selecting and encoding for a write file with one of the codes to mitigate costs associated with storage recovery. The codes include a fast recovery code for frequently accessed data and a higher storage efficiency code for less frequently accessed data. State data is tracked to ascertain frequency of access to the file. One of the erasure codes is dynamically selected based on the tracked data, with the focus of the code select to lower recovery costs, and the data is encoded with the selected erasure code. Accordingly, the original coding of the write file is subject to change based on the tracked state data.

  • Patent number: 9485551
Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure are directed to optimizing routing and wavelength assignment in a network. An embodiment determines a routing assignment for a network, wherein the routing assignment is determined using a decongestion cost-based function; and determines a wavelength assignment for the network based on vector difference. The determination of the wavelength assignment comprises spanning the network for a path; calculating a weighted correlation function for at least one length in the network; storing the weighted correlation; and determining if a next path exists. If a next path is found, spanning for a next path in the network, and if a next path is not found, returning the stored correlation.

  • Publication number: 20160294819
Abstract: It is disclosed a method of establishing a secure connection between a device and a network-based entity, NAF, via an access gateway, where the device and a network-based bootstrapping server, BSF, have a pre-established trust relationship. The method comprises the access gateway acting as a proxy between the device and the BSF. A reference to a NAF received from the BSF is used to securely authenticate the device to the NAF. An identity of the access gateway is sent to the NAF and the identity is sued to authorise the device to use the access gateway. The access gateway identity is authenticated at the BSF and/or the NAF. The access gateway may relay messages to the device over a non-HTTP link.
