  • Publication number: 20170038968
Abstract: Providing a user interface for three-dimensional (3D) modelling, via an apparatus with a touch surface includes displaying a 3D model of a virtual object having an elementary shape. A virtual mesh is displayed over or aside at least a portion of the virtual object. Regions of the virtual mesh are mapped onto regions located on the touch surface. Select of a type and/or a shape of a modification to be performed on the 3D model of the virtual object is detected together with a force applied by the user on a region of the touch surface. A region of the virtual mesh corresponding to the at least one region of the touch surface is determined. The elementary shape of the virtual object is modified corresponding to the region of the virtual mesh, based upon the user's selection. The modified 3D model of the virtual object is displayed.

  • Publication number: 20170017352
Abstract: An online system presents a feed of content including content items and one or more scrollable content units to a user of the online system. A scrollable content unit includes an ordered set of content items and a display area presenting fewer than all of the content items of the ordered set at a time. The user navigates through the ordered set of content items in the display area by interacting with the scrollable content unit. If the user navigates through fewer than all of the content items in the ordered set, the online system modifies the ordered set. If the scrollable content unit is again provided to the user, the scrollable content unit presents content items based the modified ordered set. For example, the modified ordered set prioritizes presentation of content items from the ordered set that were not previously presented to the user.

  • Publication number: 20170017369
Abstract: An online system presents a feed of content including content items and one or more scrollable content units to a user of the online system. A scrollable content unit includes an ordered set of content items sharing a common attribute, such as advertisement requests associated with the same advertising campaign or images associated with a common subject. The scrollable content unit is scrollable in a direction that is orthogonal to an orientation of the feed of content, allowing presentation of additional content items from the ordered set when a user navigates through the ordered set. When all content items in the ordered set have been displayed by the scrollable content unit, an interaction with the scrollable content unit by the user presents additional content associated with the ordered set of content items, such as a page associated with the common attribute of content items in the ordered set.

  • Patent number: 9549387
Abstract: The present techniques relate to reducing interference on conducted RF links by utilizing country information to determine where an electronic device is located, and using such information to select sub-bands or channels that are not available for wireless transmission to be used for transmission of signals via the conducted RF links. Because the conducted RF links operate on frequency bands that are different from the frequency bands used for wireless communications in a given country, there is less likelihood that wireless communications will create interference in the signals being transmitted via the conducted RF links.

  • Publication number: 20170009589
Abstract: Airfoil outer wall thickness of a gas turbine engine blade is increased in the zone that is proximate the trailing edge and blade hub by forty to sixty percent (40-60%) greater than comparable greatest wall thickness anywhere else along the trailing edge from outboard that zone all the way to the blade tip. The increased thickness zone includes a transition zone that bridges the respective airfoil outer wall thicknesses proximate the hub and tip of the blade. Some embodiments also incorporate pedestals with compound curve fillets in the increased wall thickness zone. The increased thickness zone reduces blade cracking propensity and enhances service life.
