  • Publication number: 20240007311
Abstract: The present teaching relates to method, system, medium, and implementations for communication. A communication chain with multiple chain units is used to represent a communication thread involving multiple users. Each chain unit includes first information related to a piece of communication in the communication thread and second information for authenticating a request to access the piece of communication. When a request is received with third information from one of the users to access a specific piece of communication in the communication thread in a corresponding chain unit, the user is authenticated based on the third information and the second information in the chain unit for the specific piece of communication. The requested access is facilitated when the user is authenticated.

  • Patent number: 11863638
Abstract: An online system displays supplemental content in conjunction with messaging threads between users and third parties to promote clear and productive conversations. The online system enables third parties to specify a set of content items to be displayed within a messaging interface when a messaging thread is initiated with the third party by other users. The set of content items may include one or more of images, videos, or web pages. When a user initiates a messaging thread with a third party, the online system accesses the set of specified content items and generates a messaging interface including one or more of the specified content items. By incorporating the content items within the messaging interface, the online system enables users and third parties to communicate while interacting with and viewing the content items.

  • Publication number: 20230419957
Abstract: Described are techniques for linking generating a skill-stored user profile, and linking same with a natural language processing (NLP) system-stored user profile. In at least some examples, a user may provide a natural language input to a NLP system. The NLP system may determine a skill is to process to perform an action responsive to the natural language input. To perform the action, the skill may require the user have a user profile stored by the skill, but the user may not have such a user profile. However, the NLP system may store a user profile for the user. The NLP system may determine the user profile stored thereby and may send, with user permission, information in the user profile to the skill. The skill may use the received information to generate and store a user profile for the user. Thereafter, the skill may provide the NLP system with a user profile identifier that the skill may use to identify the user's profile stored thereby.

  • Publication number: 20230412642
Abstract: The techniques described herein implement a proxy service associated with a public cloud platform. A proxy server receives a connection request sent via an account. The connection request includes a connection parameter such as a specific time the request is initiated, a specific location of a device used to initiate the request, or an identification of the device used to initiate the request. The proxy server maps the account to a policy. The proxy server then determines whether the connection parameter included in the request is anomalous to a corresponding parameter defined in the policy. In an event the connection parameter is an anomalous parameter, the proxy server takes actions to determine whether the policy can be dynamically updated to accommodate the anomalous parameter. If an accommodation can be made, a user or device does not have to wait an extended period of time to gain access to the resource.
