  • Patent number: 7782846
Abstract: The present invention relates to a data structure, an information processing apparatus, an information processing method, a transmitting apparatus, a transmitting method, a multiplexing apparatus, a multiplexing method, and a program that ensure a receiving side to decode hierarchically coded audio streams each including a base stream and an extension stream. A TS packetizing section 537 packetizes each of base and extension audio streams into TS packets. A control section 535 controls TS packet transmitting timing. At this time, the control section 535 control the TS packet transmitting timing with timing that an elementary buffer of a virtual receiver is prevented from overflowing and underflowing. The present invention is applicable to a multiplexing apparatus that multiplexes TS packets.

  • Publication number: 20100208559
Abstract: The present invention enables audio data to be recorded or played back more easily. LPCM samples from an LPCM sample 301-1 of a first channel to an LPCM sample 304-1 of a fourth channel in audio data are combined in order to generate a GOLS 310-1. An even number of GOLS are combined to generate an audio frame. Header information is added to the audio frame to generate an audio PES packet, which is multiplexed with a video PES packet and recorded onto a recording medium. As a result, the number of bits of the audio frame is an integral multiple of 32. This increases an affinity with a recording and playback apparatus.

  • Patent number: 7778518
Abstract: Random access reproduction in prompt response to user commands is realized. A stream analyzing block analyzes sequentially inputted transport streams to get entry point data. Discontinuity point data are obtained in correspondence to a discontinuity occurrence flag inputted from a PLL block. Sequentially inputted transport packets are analyzed to get mark point data. A stream database creating block creates a stream database by use of the discontinuity point data and the mark point data. The stream database is recorded on a recording medium.

  • Patent number: 7750935
Abstract: A data recording and/or reproducing apparatus and method in which, during a recording operation, the maximum bit rate of a transport stream may be detected and along with the transport stream written into a storage medium. During a reproducing operation, the recorded transport stream and maximum bit rate information may be read from the storage medium and a band width or rate for transferring data over a digital interface may be set in accordance with the read maximum bit rate information. As a result, the digital interface band may be utilized for transferring data with a relatively high efficiency.

  • Patent number: 7738776
Abstract: CPI_type is stated in the PlayList( ). There are EP_type and EP_map type in CPI_type. If the position of an I-picture can be known by analysis, EP_map type is used, whereas, if the position of an I-picture cannot be known by analysis, EP_map type is used. By so doing, AV stream data recorded subject to analysis of the I-picture and AV stream data recorded without analyzing the I-picture position can be supervised in common.

  • Patent number: 7738779
Abstract: In a data processing apparatus used for a multi-channel digital television broadcasting system, coded streams are recorded on a recording medium in a high efficiency, and can be random-accessed in a high speed. The data processing apparatus is arranged by segmenting means for segmenting the entered coded stream with respect to a predetermined time unit, and first forming means for forming a time unit map indicative of an address of data every time unit of the coded stream which is segmented by the segmenting means.

  • Patent number: 7738330
Abstract: Congested rewriting in the same area is to be evaded to suppress the tendency towards occurrence of defective areas. When a stream 1 has been recorded, the last written address, representing the last written position, is stored. When recording a stream 2 next, recording is started directly following the position indicated by the last written address for the stream 1. The last written address, corresponding to the last address of the recording position, is stored. If the stream 2 is erased for recording a stream 3, recording is started not at a position directly following the last written address of the stream 1, but from a position directly following the last written address of the stream 2. When the stream 3 has reached the end of a recording area, the next following data is recorded as from a position directly following the stream 1.

  • Publication number: 20100142919
Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for reproducing a recording medium that require input of a code number only once when the code number is required to be inputted to both a directory and a PlayList for reproduction. A plurality of directories such as DVR, DVR1, DVRn and the like are formed on a disk. One directory DVR has a flag DVR_protect_flag set therein for controlling reproduction of information belonging in the directory. Also, .rpls in PLAYLIST, which is one piece of information in the directory DVR, has a playback_control_flag set therein for controlling reproduction thereof. In a case where the DVR_protect_flag is 1, the reproduction is allowed only when a correct code number is inputted. In a case where the DVR_protect_flag and the playback_control_flag are both 1, input of the code number for the playback_control_flag is omitted when the correct code number has already been inputted for the DVR_protect_flag.

  • Patent number: 7729358
Abstract: A transcoding apparatus and associated methodology of transcoding a first video stream into a second video stream, is provided. A separator extracts a video transport stream packet including the first video stream, a non-video transport stream packet, and timing information from a first transport stream. The timing information indicates a time at which the non-video transport stream packet is formed and the first transport stream relative to the video transport stream packet. A memory is provided to store the timing information. A conversion unit generates the second video stream based on the first video stream. A multiplexer multiplexes a converted video transport stream packed including the second video stream and a converted non-video transport stream packet based on the stored timing information to generate a second transport stream, including the second video stream.

  • Publication number: 20100054462
Abstract: A block key to encrypt block data is generated using an ATS (arrival time stamp) appended to each of TS (transport stream) packets included in a transport stream correspondingly to the arrival time of the TS packet. The ATS is a random data depending upon an arrival time, and so a block-unique key can be generated, which enhances the protection against data cryptanalysis. A block key is generated from a combination of an ATS with a key unique to a device, recording medium or the like such as a master key, disc-unique key, title-unique key or the like. Since an ATS is used to generate a block key, any area for storage of an encryption key for each block may not be provided in a recording medium.

  • Publication number: 20100054711
Abstract: The present invention facilitates reading in advance information on addresses where data of each reproduction path to be reproduced is stored. Clip AV stream 1 to Clip AV stream 3 of angles forming a multiangle are managed by PlayList#1 to PlayList#3 for the different angles. Each of PlayList#1 to PlayList#3 is divided by angle change points. Each of the divided reproducing sections corresponds to a PlayItem. Correspondences between source packet numbers and presentation time stamps of the angle change points are recorded in an EP_map. The present invention is applicable to DVD recording and reproducing apparatus, for example.

  • Patent number: 7668436
Abstract: A method is provided for recording video information in which copy control information of video information is managed in the case of copying the content of data from one recording medium to another recording medium. Copy control information (CCI) or a watermark (WM) of an inputted AV stream is detected and whether the content of the copy control information or watermark has changed is determined. Change point information of the copy control information or watermark and the content of the copy control information or watermark are acquired, and management information for managing the copy control information is generated on the basis of the acquired change point information. The generated management information is recorded together with the video information to a recording medium at a copy destination.

  • Patent number: 7661000
Abstract: A configuration is provided which improves scrambling processing of content and eliminates unauthorized use of content. Scramble rules which differ for each content are used for content scrambling processing. For example, in the event of using shuffling processing, various shuffle states are specified as scramble rules. In the event of using Exclusive-OR processing, a value applicable to EXOR is specified as the scramble rule. Also, in the event of using rotation processing, a shift amount is specified as the scramble rule. In the event of using 32 shuffle elements in shuffling processing, 32! different shuffle states, that is to say, 32! different scramble rules can be specified. Also, the values for EXOR or the rotation shift amount can be set as various values, and many scramble rules can be set.
