One or more of the content consumption devices within a content information network may be capable of serving as a content consumption hub device that coordinates the receipt and dissemination of content consumption event information pertaining to content consumption events from and to various content consumption devices within the content information network. The content consumption hub device may further communicate, to various content consumption devices within its network, content-related information relating to content consumed on content consumption devices within its network and/or devices outside of its network. The content consumption hub device may be configured to receive content-related information from one or more content information hubs. The content consumption hub device may also receive content consumption event information from a content consumption platform.

The method also includes receiving, by the first appliance and from a browser, a token generated by a second application of the second appliance, wherein the token is associated with the key. The method further includes sending, by the first appliance, the personally identifiable information to the browser after receiving the token from the browser.

A guide experience may be provided that incorporates thumbnail videos as part of a navigation experience that may be personalized per user input. “Personalized” mosaics and video-tiles may be provided as part of the guide such that a given mosaic has an integrated look and feel. An optional guide-view may be included as part of the navigation guide. Mosaics may be defined including a plurality of thumbnails which may be available for display on the client device. Per user request, the selected video may be retrieved, scaled to dimension other than the macroblock dimension, and be fitted within a macro block that has macroblock dimensions larger than the scaled dimensions of the scaled video and be displayed. A portion of the macroblock that does not include the scaled video may be masked.

Abstract: A method, apparatus and system for transferring data from an apparatus called multi-protocol gateway in a network seamlessly that operates using a particular protocol, to another device that is either in the same network or outside operating in a totally different protocol is described. Today, to accomplish this requires external units, one per technology. For example, for supporting both WiFi and WiMAX devices today, we would require a WiFi access point, a WiMAX base station and a router. We provide plug-ins that would handle multiple protocols within the same gateway, to cater to devices that operate in those protocols. The apparatus translates between various protocols in the back end making it inexpensive and portable. The unit is scalable, grows with technology, and acts as a gateway to a local network. The device can be configured to address Quality of Service, Priority between technologies and fault- tolerance through management layer.

Abstract: This invention concerns measuring cognitive load. A word based input is produced by a person while performing a task (100). Predetermined grammatical features of the word based input are identified (104). Then, the identified grammatical features are weighted and combined to provide a measure indicating the person's cognitive load (106). The use of grammatical features represents a divergence from the known methods of providing a measure of a person's cognitive load. It is an advantage of the invention that by concentrating on the grammatical features it is able to provide an objective, non-intrusive measure of the person's cognitive load. Aspects the invention include a method, a computer system and software that are used to perform the method.

Abstract: Exposing consumers to content of secondary interest via a content distribution network is becoming increasingly difficult as Video on Demand gains popularity and consumers isolate themselves from secondary content, including: new programs, emergency alerts, etc. Additionally, ensuring that the consumers are consuming secondary content that is provided to them via the content distribution network poses technical difficulties for the service provider. Therefore, systems and methods that encourage consumers to consume secondary content and verify its consumption non-intrusively are of increasing importance to service providers. Providing consumers with the ability to opt in and out of tracking and verification for the promotion of content allows consumers to be provided secondary content and for the service provider to appropriately reward the consumers for consuming the content to encourage additional consumption of secondary content.
