  • Publication number: 20190208543
Abstract: A user equipment device (UE) may receive a schedule for a listen before talk (LBT) procedure for a secondary component carrier on a first subscription associated with the UE that includes a radio frequency resource of the UE. The UE may determine a requirement to perform at least one operation on a second subscription associated with the UE that also includes the radio frequency resource. The UE may determine that performance of the at least one operation (at least partially) interferes (time overlaps) with performance of the LBT procedure. In response, the UE may initiate at least one scheduling operation at the UE to avoid interference between performance of the at least one operation on the second subscription and performance of the LBT procedure on the first subscription.

Abstract: A device and method for generating a user equipment (UE) capability information message. In a first embodiment, a UE receives a request for the radio access capabilities of the UE and a size limit indication for a message to be generated by the UE that includes the radio access capabilities. The UE generates the message that includes the radio access capabilities based on the size limit then transmits the message to the network. In a second embodiment, a UE receives a request for the radio access capabilities of the UE. The UE also receives a segment limit indication and a size limit indication for a message to be generated by the UE that includes the radio access capabilities. • Publication number: 20190082288
Abstract: Techniques are provided to initiate signal transmissions for possible opportunistic reception by a mobile device, and/or to initiate opportunistic reception of signal transmissions for use in mobile device position location estimation. For example, a mobile device may use assistance data to identify a first signal to be transmitted over a first frequency band and a second signal to be transmitted over a second frequency band during a specific period of time. At least a portion of the second frequency band may be outside of the first frequency band. The mobile device subsequently attempts to opportunistically receive at least the first signal and the second signal via a receiver tuned to a reception frequency band that encompasses at least the first frequency band and the second frequency band. The mobile device may then process the opportunistically received signals to obtain measurements corresponding to at least the first and second signals.

  • Patent number: 10225747
Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus selects an LTE serving cell and a non-LTE serving cell. Measurement objects corresponding thereto are identified based on a review of broadcasted system information and historical information relating to prior serving cells. The apparatus identifies measurement objects from other radio access technologies (RATs) (WCDMA, CDMA, GSM). The remaining measurement objects may be identified based on measurement identifiers. The apparatus performs wireless measurements based on the selected serving cells and identified measurement objects. • Publication number: 20180262905
Abstract: A base station may transmit to a user equipment (UE) one or more indices corresponding to one or more carrier aggregation (CA) band combinations via a UE capability request. The transmitted UE capability requests may include an identifier that corresponds to the UE or the capability procedure between the UE and the base station. Then the UE may respond to the request by including the identifier and an indication of its capability corresponding to the transmitted indices in a UE capability response. Additionally the UE may include an aggregation indicator which signals to the network that the UE's capabilities are to be aggregated with additional indications of UE capability received in other UE capability responses that also include the identifier. Subsequent UE capability responses that include the identifier and an indication that the UE's capabilities may be aggregated will be combined with previously received UE capabilities.

  • Publication number: 20180227904
Abstract: Capability exchange enhancements include filtering and/or indexing. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) determines UE capabilities to be reported to a network based on one or more of: one or more enquiries from the network, received system information, a home operator policy, configuration associated with public land mobile network (PLMN) information of one or more networks, a user preference, or a service type. In other aspects, a UE may report a subset of UE capabilities for features used for the connection establishment. Following connection establishment, the UE may use an identifier to communicate a more complete set of modes of operation that the UE is currently capable of performing. Base stations of the network may share the reported subset so that the UE may avoid transmitting the subset to a target base station.
