  • Patent number: 5696759
Abstract: A switching equipment accommodates lines and includes a line interface for processing data from the line on the unit of cell. The line interface has a basic processing unit and an additional processing unit. The basic processing unit performs a basic process on the cell. The additional processing unit separated from the basic processing unit but disconnectably connected to the basic processing unit executes an additional process on the cell. The additional processing unit includes a plurality of processing blocks for effecting a plurality of additional processes on the cells. Each processing block is individually disconnectably connected to the basic processing unit. The basic processing unit includes a selecting portion for selecting, when one or more processing blocks within the additional processing unit are connected, the connected processing blocks and performing the additional process on the cell.

  • Patent number: 5680089
Abstract: A fuse in which molten metal can be positively held or retained in a housing when a fuse element melts, and the melting of the fuse element can be easily confirmed. The fuse includes the fuse element including opposite side portions respectively defining a pair of metal terminals which are connected together through an element having a fusible portion, and are disposed in a generally common plane, and a flap of a metal material which is bendable at the boundary between the flap and the element, an insulating member being formed on at least one face of the flap; and a housing including opposite side portions respectively defining a pair of terminal receiving portions for respectively receiving the pair of terminals, and a central portion defining an element receiving portion for receiving the element, the element receiving portion having an open portion at its upper side. When the flap is bent, that face of the flap having the insulating member formed thereon is exposed to the exterior.

  • Patent number: 5610913
Abstract: Switching equipment in provided for performing a switching process of a fixed length cell consisting of data and a cell header. A line interface provided in the switching equipment accommodates a plurality of lines and, at the same time, processes the data from each line on a cell unit. The line interface includes individual units and a common unit. The individual units are individually connected to the plurality of lines accommodated therein and individually process the cells. The common unit is connected to the individual units and, at the same time, effects batch-processing of the cells processed by the individual units.

  • Patent number: 5439748
Abstract: A water-soluble or water-dispersible pressure-sensitive adhesive composition comprising a sulfonate-containing copolymer obtained from 20 to 99% by weight of an alkoxyethyl acrylate, 1 to 30% by weight of a styrenesulfonic acid salt, and up to 50% by weight of a monomer mixture of acrylic acid-caprolactone adducts. The composition exhibits excellent pressure-sensitive adhesion while showing satisfactory water solubility or dispersibility even in an acidic aqueous solution.

  • Patent number: 5332607
Abstract: A water-soluble double-faced adhesive tape is provided which needs no release paper, permits web splicing without an increase in thickness at the spliced part, and permits spliced webs to run smoothly in a papermaking process, eliminating the possibility of web breaking. The tape includes a water-disintegratable substrate, a first water-soluble adhesive layer formed on one side of the substrate from one edge of the substrate, and a second water-soluble adhesive layer formed on the other side of the substrate from the other edge of the substrate, the two adhesive layers being positioned a distance apart greater than the web thickness plus twice the tape thickness plus an allowance such that they do not overlap in the width direction, with release layers preventing the adhesive layer from sticking to the substrate when the tape is wound up into a roll.

  • Patent number: 4500683
Abstract: A pressure-sensitive adhesive composition containing as a polymer component an addition-polymerization polymer of an acryl-based polymer having sticking properties at room temperature and one or more ethylenically unsaturated monomers capable of forming a homo- or co-polymer having a glass transition point of at least 273.degree. K.; the addition-polymerization polymer is prepared by polymerizing one or more ethylenically unsaturated monomers in the presence of the acryl-based polymer; the present pressure-sensitive adhesive composition has high adhesive strength and cohesive strength.

  • Patent number: 4487897
Abstract: A process for polymerizing acrylic monomers is disclosed. The process involves providing a reactor which is generally in the shape of a screw type reactor having temperature control means thereon. The reactor is continually charged with a supply of acrylic monomers having a viscosity of 10 poises or less at ordinary temperature. The acrylic monomers are continually moved through the reactor by turning of the screw within the reactor in order to cause the acrylic monomers to continually contact renewed surfaces within the reactor. The temperature in the reactor is controlled within two or more zones within the reactor in order to increase the viscosity of the acrylic monomers in the reactor by rapid polymerization within an initial area and then allow polymerization to proceed to one or more additional areas in the reactor to a prescribed rate of conversion. Polymerized product is continuously removed from the reactor.
