Abstract: A system for determining a trigger amplitude indicating a precursor to a material fracture in a specimen under test includes a microphone converting acoustic emission emitted by the specimen under test into electrical signals. A load is exerted upon the specimen under test and the acoustic emission are emitted when the load causes the specimen under test to undergo deformation prior to the material fracture. A control module is in electrical communication with the microphone and executes instructions to monitor the electrical signals generated by the microphone and filter the electrical signals generated by the microphone. The control module converts the electrical signals generated by the microphone into individual frequency components based on a fast Fourier Transform (FFT). The individual frequency components each include a peak intensity. The control module determines the trigger amplitude based on the peak intensity of the individual frequency components of the FFT.

Abstract: A grilling tool is described herein that has a replaceable tip, and can be used with a variety of other attachments. The grilling tool can be made of a heat-conformable material such that during use grooves are formed in the replaceable tip that correspond to a grilling surface on which it is used. Once the grooves are too deep or the tip is fully used, the tip can be replaced.

Abstract: A travel pillow system includes an outer sleeve with a first end reversibly connectable to a second end. The outer sleeve may be stuffed or filled with a blanket to form an infinity scarf or neck pillow that may be used in a variety of configurations to support the neck, head, back, shoulders, etc., and also be used as a light-blocking pillow. The sleeve may be provided with a pocket for holding items such as ID cards, keys, credit cards, and other travel essentials. A pillowcase may also be provided and the blanket may be removed from the outer sleeve and used to fill the pillowcase. The blanket may also be secured around a user and include pockets for a user's hands.

Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods are described that combine a sorbent containing a flame retardant with a substrate, which is capable of responding to temperature increases to prevent, suppress, delay the spread of, or otherwise mitigate a proximal thermal event. A flame retardant system has a flame retardant material that is incorporated into a matrical sorbent material, which is incorporated into a substrate. The matrical sorbent material is configured to release the flame retardant material upon exposure to an elevated temperature, e.g., a temperature that is greater than 300° C. in one embodiment.

Abstract: Present embodiments relate to an air filter adapter for use with open style engine air filters. More particularly, but without limitation, present embodiments relate to a filter adapter having a hydrocarbon trap positioned within the adapter.

The device further includes a second liquid, which is adsorbed by the sorbent material and has a second boiling temperature that is above the first boiling temperature. The first liquid vaporizes into a first vapor, in response to the first liquid reaching the first boiling temperature. The second liquid is desorbed from the sorbent material, in response to the second liquid and the sorbent material reaching a desorption temperature that is below the second boiling temperature. The second liquid vaporizes into a second vapor, in response to the second liquid reaching the second boiling temperature.

Abstract: A heat pipe is provided for cooling an electronic component of a printed circuit board. The heat pipe includes a tube having an inner diameter surface defining a bore, with the tube having first and second ends along the bore. The heat pipe further includes a sorbent material coated onto the inner diameter surface of the tube, a first liquid contained within the bore, and a second liquid adsorbed by the sorbent material. The second liquid has a second boiling temperature that is higher than a first boiling temperature of the first liquid. The first liquid vaporizes into a first vapor, in response to the tube receiving heat from the electronic component and the first liquid reaching the first boiling temperature. The second liquid is desorbed from the sorbent material and vaporizes into a second vapor in response to the second liquid reaching the second boiling temperature.

Abstract: A climate control device includes a radiant heater for radiating heat and a porous material attached to the radiant heater. The porous material desorbs a plurality of water molecules, in response to the porous material receiving heat from the radiant heater and raising a temperature of the water molecules in the porous material to a boiling temperature threshold. The porous material adsorbs the water molecules in response to the temperature of the water molecules falling below the boiling temperature threshold.

Abstract: The technology provides for utilizing and displaying physician analytics. For example, a result metric for a physician is based on a value metric, a quality metric, and/or a quantity metric. The value metric, quality metric, and/or quantity metric may all be received from different sources. The result metric may be displayed on a chart, or the result metric may be utilized for determining referral recommendations for a physician. The result metric may be displayed as a physician indicator on the chart. An insight for the physician may also be determined from the result metric. The insight may be based on the location of the physician indicator on the chart, and the insight may be represented by the color or other visual attribute of the physician indicator. For referral recommendations, the result metric may be used to adjust the rank of a physician in a referral search result.

Abstract: A pillow with a pillow covering that resembles an animal, a character, or a creature. The pillow may include a series of pockets at different positions on the pillow that allow for storage of items including a journal or diary and a key to unlock the journal or diary. The pillow may be comprised of a cushioning element within the pillow covering that may be a single unitary piece of material, such as a foam. The pillow may also include a speaker system that is wirelessly connectable to a mobile device to allow for the playing of an audio file, such as music. The cover may be removable, washable, and interchangeable with other covers.

Abstract: This waterslide system or assembly that may allow for easy expansion of waterslides and more particularly an assembly and method for fixing a waterslide to a planar surface, or ground. The assembly may include reinforced portions of the waterslide which include apertures are allow for piercing of the reinforced portions to create apertures. The system may include a first sheet of material and subsequent sheets of material that may be the same or separate materials. A plurality of anchors may pass through the reinforced portions including the first sheet and subsequent sheets and fix the sheet(s) to the planar surface. The reinforced portions may be fixed to the sheet(s) through adhesion, sewing, weaving, welding, or other means. The reinforced portions may further include a flap that may comprise the same material as the reinforced portion itself.

Abstract: A barbeque grill scraper and related methods of use that utilize a scraping end formed of a heat-responsive material to remove char and other debris from the grilling surface. The grill scraper includes a conformable scraping edge formed of the heat-responsive material. As the conformable scraping edge is drawn back and forth along the heated grilling surface, a combination of pressure applied by a user as well as the heat of the grill surface results in the formation of individual grooves along the conformable scraping edge, wherein each groove is formed to match an upper profile of the grilling surface. Over time, the grooves fully conform to the upper profile of the grilling surface such that an entire cooking surface can be scraped clean of char and debris.

Abstract: A garment for use by a dialysis patient is presented. The garment includes a right sleeve, a left sleeve and a plurality of zipper systems. The zipper systems are configured to provide access to a predetermined site of the arm of a dialysis patient. The garment is structured and arranged as a hooded top sweatshirt. The garment is useful to provide comfort and warmth for a dialysis before, during, and after a dialysis treatment session.

Abstract: A swing system may include a bucket-style swing seat, with a front support portion and a back support portion. A grip may be provided at the top edge of the outer face of the swing. The back support portion of the swing may have a height greater than the front support portion, and this high molded backing may also be provided with a top edge that curves outwardly. The high-molded backing may provide additional comfort for a child in the swing, as well as a grip for the caregiver pushing the swing.

Abstract: The system may be a process and a device that allows for safety in swinging on a swing at a park, playground or swing set. The process may include fixing a chain, hook/connector and an anchor into a single chain assembly. The chain assembly may be dipped or submerged in a polymer coating and allowed to dry, forming a continuous coating over the chain assembly. The chain assembly may be secured to a swing seat using brackets to engage the anchor portion of the chain assembly. The polymer coating may partially or entirely coat the chain assembly while still allowing manipulation and deformation of the chain assembly. The polymer coating may provide easier gripping and safer swinging.
