Patent number: 11867112Abstract: Vehicle exhaust system uses delta pressure based estimation of accumulated soot within a diesel particulate filter. The exhaust system has a diesel oxidation catalyst and a diesel particulate filter. A fuel injector is connected upstream from the diesel oxidation catalyst and the diesel particulate filter. A delta pressure sensor measures difference in pressure at inlet and outlet of the diesel particulate filter. A controller determines when to regenerate the diesel particulate filter based on an estimated amount of soot. The controller, in a first regeneration mode, causes the fuel injector to inject fuel at a first rate into the exhaust stream, and to re-evaluate amount of soot accumulated within the diesel particulate filter under increased volumetric flow. The controller, in a second regeneration mode, causes the fuel injector to inject fuel at a second rate into the exhaust stream in order to combust soot trapped in the diesel particulate filter.Type: GrantFiled: March 7, 2023Date of Patent: January 9, 2024Assignee: International Engine Intellectual Property Company, LLCInventors: Paul Boon Charintranond, Navtej Singh

Patent number: 11867074Abstract: A gas turbine engine has an accessory gearbox disposed outside of a bypass channel and connected to a housing part, which radially delimits the bypass channel, in a connection region near the housing part and in a connection region far from the housing part. A connecting element is provided between the housing part and the connection region far from the housing part. A longitudinal axis of the connecting element includes an angle in the range of 75° to 115° with a vertical axis of the accessory gearbox. The connecting element can vary a distance between the far connection region and a connection point of the connecting element on the housing part such that deformation of the housing part and a resulting position change of the connection point cause a lesser deflection of the accessory gearbox than a deflection with an unchanged length of the connecting element.Type: GrantFiled: July 19, 2021Date of Patent: January 9, 2024Assignee: ROLLS-ROYCE DEUTSCHLAND LTD & CO. Patent number: 11008917Abstract: Diesel Exhaust Fluid is metered into an engine exhaust gas aftertreatment system having a close coupled SCR catalyst and a main SCR catalyst. The DEF is injected into two injector locations, one upstream of the close coupled SCR catalyst and another upstream of the main SCR catalyst, the quantity of DEF in each injector being based on primarily the temperature at the main SCR catalyst and the mass flow of the NOx through the aftertreatment system. This method of injection enables a relatively better fuel economy outcome while meeting the regulated tailpipe NOx emission levels and the N2O formation limits.Type: GrantFiled: August 24, 2018Date of Patent: May 18, 2021Assignee: International Engine Intellectual Property Company, LLC.Inventors: Bradley Jay Adelman, Navtej Singh, Umang Khanna

Publication number: 20200386137Abstract: A DEF injector is connected to the exhaust system of a vehicle upstream of an SCR catalyst, and is further connected to the ECU or DCU. An exhaust temperature sensor and an exhaust mass flow rate sensor are connected to the ECU or DCU, and further connected to the DEF injector. The ECU or DCU controls the DEF injector based on exhaust temperature and exhaust mass flow rate when the exhaust temperature is above a certain threshold. The DEF injector itself, or a dedicated DEF injector controller, overrides and/or supplements the control logic located within the ECU or DCU to control the DEF injector to inject DEF at reduced rates when the exhaust temperature and/or the exhaust mass flow rate are lower than the threshold for DEF injection set by the ECU or DCU.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 27, 2020Publication date: December 10, 2020Inventors: Bradley Jay Adelman, Navtej Singh

Patent number: 10567431Abstract: A system includes one or more “BotMagnet” modules that are exposed to infection by malicious code. The BotMagnets may include one or more virtual machines hosing operating systems in which malicious code may be installed and executed without exposing sensitive data or other parts of a network. In particular, outbound traffic may be transmitted to a Sinkhole module that implements a service requested by the outbound traffic and transmits responses to the malicious code executing within the BotMagnet. In the case of shellcode attacks, unsuccessful attacks may be emulated by selecting a corresponding emulator that will receive and execute instructions, as would a successful shellcode attack. Events occurring on the BotMagnet and Sinkhole are correlated and used to characterize the malicious code. The characterization may be transmitted to other computer systems in order to detect instances of the malicious code.Type: GrantFiled: May 17, 2016Date of Patent: February 18, 2020Assignee: ATTIVO NETWORKS INC.Inventors: Venu Vissamsetty, Navtej Singh, Sachin Kajekar
