  • Publication number: 20090183215
Abstract: A digital broadcast network is disclosed that can divide an application into multiple channels to be distributed to receiving devices. A receiving device can selectively accept one or more of the multiple channels depending on various criteria including selection parameters and device capability. The selective choice of at least a subset of the application can provide an acceptable depth and delivery of data to improve the user experience. Text and standard data experiences can be combined with an audio counterpart, with pre-loaded client-side media files, and/or with pre-loaded client-side media files and a live audio stream, which can enrich a user experience.

  • Publication number: 20090183103
Abstract: Ticker functionality provides filtering and displaying information relevant to a user. The ticker can be employed to parse information from a broadcast stream and insert the information into a ticker display area. The information presented in the display area can be animated in order to maximize and control the amount of information available to the user. The information offered in the ticker is interactive so that it allows the user to customize this abbreviated data and how the data is presented.

  • Publication number: 20090182813
Abstract: A digital broadcast network is provided in which multiple original experiences powered by the same data is created. A server software intelligently handles delivery of data so that the data can be utilized by several different client-side applications at substantially the same time. Through filtering of large amounts of data and creation of a universal format, this data can be used by devices capable of receiving a digital broadcast stream.

  • Publication number: 20090182886
Abstract: A digital broadcast network is disclosed that can provide information at different frequency repetition rates in order to mitigate delay of information at a receiving device. A data stream can be divided into sets of data and depending on how each set of data will be consumed by a user, respective weights or priorities can be assigned to each set. Based on the weight or priority, at least one set of data can repeat more frequently within the data stream than other sets of data. Thus, upon receiving the data stream, the set of data repeated more frequently can be rendered on a user device at substantially the same time as the information is requested. Assigning a more frequent repetition rate of certain sets of data allows the receiving device to quickly obtain and render more important data.

  • Publication number: 20090145783
Abstract: An apparatus and method are disclosed for rapid, low cost, and safe removal of trapped moisture from portable electronic devices. An airtight, sealable container is divided by an air and moisture permeable barrier into a compartment for the device and a compartment for desiccant. The method includes placing the device and desiccant into the compartments, sealing the container, and waiting for the desiccant to absorb the moisture. In preferred embodiments, the sealable container is made from plastic or glass, is disposable or reusable, and includes electrical, chemical, or other means for heating the device and/or mechanical means for forcing air between the compartments. Embodiments include silica gel or other descant in bulk or in pre-measured packets, pre-loaded in the container or stored in a separate, airtight container. Some embodiments include scoops or other means for measuring and dispensing desired desiccant quantities, and guidelines on optimal desiccant quantities and waiting times.

  • Patent number: 7470103
Abstract: A method and system for determining a limit exceedance of an operating parameter in a steam turbine system. Measurement data associated with the operating parameter is received, and a limit exceedance is determined when the rate of change in the received data over a predefined period of time exceeds a predefined limit. A control action is taken when a limit exceedance has been determined.

  • Publication number: 20080268966
Abstract: A thread chaser device comprises an elongated member. A coupling mechanism is formed at one end of the member. A thread cutting device is formed at the other end of the member and is spaced from the coupling mechanism. The elongated member may define an internal bore located between the coupling mechanism and the thread cutting device. In one embodiment the thread chaser device may be at least two inches long and has a thin walled construction. The bore may closely receive a stud to maintain the angular orientation of the thread chaser relative to the stud.

  • Patent number: 7431160
Abstract: Apparatus for releasing tablets from a blister pack has a tray, a lid pivotally mounted on the tray and a peg slidably mounted on the lid. A base is formed integrally with side walls of the tray, a raised floor for receiving the blister pack extends across the tray and is spaced from the base to define a cavity. A partition wall extends between the side walls at one end of the floor and includes a raised portion which defines a gap between the wall and floor which enables the cavity to communicate with an end receptacle defined by the floor and a part circular end wall. The peg is movable into registry with any selected blister and the floor is provided with apertures to allow released tablets to pass through the floor into the cavity and from the cavity into the end receptacle.
