  • Publication number: 20050072574
Abstract: Gas is supplied from a host facility (2) to an underwater gas compressor (10) via a connecting pipeline (6) and the gas compressor is connected to a plurality of gas injection wells (7) for a hydrocarbon reservoir via well supply flowlines (8). The gas compressor (10) compresses the supplied gas to a higher pressure, and drives the gas into the reservoir via the flowlines (8) and gas injection wells (7) at a pressure at least as high as the pressure of the production fluid in the reservoir. This raises the overall pressure in the reservoir to drive production fluid there to the host facility (2). The compressed gas may alternatively be injected into production fluid in a production well to provide a gas lift effect.

  • Patent number: 6811209
Abstract: A door for the operator's cab on an agricultural tractor is formed from a frameless single pane of transparent material pivoted at one edge on a pillar of the tractor. The pivot is formed of two hinges affixed to the pane and a reinforcing member extending generally parallel to the pivot axis and interconnecting the wings of the hinges that are affixed to the pane. The reinforcing member is arranged in line with the pillar on which the door is mounted, when viewed from the position of the driver of the vehicle, so as to minimize obstruction of the field of view of the driver. In another aspect of the invention, the surfaces on the hinges that mate with the pane are machined to match the contours of the pane while the reinforcing member and the hinges are in one piece.

  • Patent number: 6039861
Abstract: The invention provides an electrochemical reaction wherein a controlled amount of a first reagent is generated electrochemically at an electrode in electrical contact with a solution of an electrochemically inert salt, comprising applying a suitable electrical potential to the electrode for a suitable time to generate a controlled amount of the first reagent by electrochemical reaction between the electrode and a species in solution producing a localized thin layer environment comprising the first reagent in the vicinity of the electrode; and monitoring the amount or presence of the first reagent or a further species produced in solution in response to production of the first reagent. The method invention thus involves generating the first reagent in situ at an electrode.
