  • Patent number: 9319915
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and system of providing minimization drive test (MDT) measurement information to a base station in a wireless communication network. In one embodiment, a method includes indicating availability of MDT measurement information logged by user equipment to a base station in a wireless network environment. The method further includes receiving an information request message to transfer the MDT measurement information in response to the indication. The method includes transmitting an information response message including at least a portion of the MDT measurement information to the base station, where the information response message indicates whether any portion of MDT measurement information is leftover with the user equipment. The method then includes repeating the above steps of receiving and transmitting till the entire MDT measurement information is transferred to the base station.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are provided for providing service recovery at a user equipment (UE) of a mobile communication network. The UE establishes a call in a first public land mobile network (PLMN). A handover zone of the first PLMN and a second PLMN is entered. The second PLMN is in a forbidden PLMN list of the UE. The UE receives a dedicated message with an indication of the second PLMN. The second PLMN is removed from the forbidden PLMN list. The UE performs registration with the second PLMN so that services of the second PLMN are available to the UE.

  • Publication number: 20150296356
Abstract: A method and system to improve emergency call continuity by allowing inbound mobility towards non-member CSG cells is disclosed. The method enables the UE to detect an emergency call. Then the UE initiates an autonomous search procedure by itself, without need for network to configure the UE for proximity reporting. The method enables the UE to use non-member CSG cells for continuity of emergency calls. The method also enables the UE to confirm emergency call handling support provided by the target CSG cell before initiating handover.

  • Patent number: 9143336
Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention provides a switch. The switch includes a processor and a computer-readable storage medium. The computer-readable storage medium stores instructions which when executed by the processor cause the processor to perform a method. The method comprises determining whether the switch is a leaf switch of a multicast distribution tree of a multicast group based on a multicast topology query message from a root switch of the multicast distribution tree. If the switch is a leaf switch, the method further comprises constructing a multicast topology report message comprising layer-2 topology information of the multicast group associated with the switch.

  • Patent number: 9112715
Abstract: A routing system utilizes a layer 2 switch interconnecting several routers to intelligently forward multicast packets throughout an interne exchange carrying multicast content. The layer 2 switch performs protocol snooping to extract a lookup key that is based on network layer protocol information. The lookup key is uniquely formulated to support either shared or explicit source distribution trees. The lookup key is used to query a forwarding memory that returns an outgoing port index. The outgoing port index points to one or more outgoing ports that are eligible to receive the multicast packet. The outgoing ports are also connected to the neighboring device(s) that are designated to receive the multicast packet. The routing system also supports real time maintenance and updating of the forwarding memory based on the periodic exchange of control messages. The routing system is configured to support PIM routers operating in PIM SM or PIM SSM modes.

  • Patent number: 9112471
Abstract: A gain control system for a gain stage of a wireless communication system includes a gain control module and a mode selection module. The gain control module is operable in automatic gain control (AGC) and manual gain control (MGC) modes. The mode selection module checks the presence of first user-data in the first sub-frame based on a received signal strength indication (RSSI) value and/or a decibel amplitude level relative to full scale (dBFS) value, the presence of second user-data in a second sub-frame subsequent to the first sub-frame based on an advance information, calculates an estimated signal power level, and configures the gain control module in one of the AGC and MGC modes. Based on the mode, the gain control module provides a gain value to the gain stage.

  • Patent number: 8893106
Abstract: A computer (“patch analysis computer”) retrieves from a website, metadata describing one or more patch files to be used to change software in one or more computers (“target computers”). Prior to installation of the patch files in a target computer, the patch analysis computer performs analysis on the patch files and on the target computer and on application of the patch files to the target computer. The analysis is based on the retrieved metadata and based on configuration data of the target computer. Subsequent to performing the analysis, the management computer displays a report resulting from the analysis including one or more operations to fix issues found during analysis, and receives input from a human on specific patch files and operations. In response to receipt of human input, the patch analysis computer performs operations approved by the human and applies the patch files to the target computer.

  • Patent number: 8850161
Abstract: Methods are provided for efficiently storing data to a data storage device or subsystem. The data storage device may be a Solid-State Device (SSD), and may be implemented as part of a RAID (Redundant Array of Independent Disks) or other subsystem. When existing data is read and updated, and must be re-stored, the data is assembled and stored as if it were new data, and is written in a sequential manner, instead of being written to the same storage location. A newer generation number distinguishes it from the previous version. If the storage subsystem employs data striping, stripe size may be matched with the size of a logical collection of data (e.g., an extent), so that each such logical collection of data is wholly stored on just device in the storage subsystem. Concurrent device access may be supported by concurrently writing substripes of data to each device/extent.

  • Publication number: 20140259018
Abstract: A backoff polling algorithm may use a minimum polling interval which represents an amount of time between repeated polls of a job step queue. When polled, the job step queue may indicate a number of job steps scheduled to execute currently. Additionally, the backoff polling algorithm may repeatedly poll the job step queue at the current polling interval and execute any job steps indicated until the step queue indicates that the number of job steps scheduled to execute currently is below a minimum threshold. While the indicated number of job steps is below the minimum threshold, the backoff polling algorithm may repeatedly increase the polling interval up to a predetermined maximum polling interval and poll at each increased interval until the indicated number of job steps is above the minimum threshold. The backoff polling algorithm may then decrease the polling interval to the minimum polling interval.

  • Patent number: 8811171
Abstract: Solutions are provided that allow a network device to apply flow control on the MAC layer while taking into account the priority of the frame of traffic. This may be accomplished by generating a frame indicating that traffic flow should be paused, while utilizing a new opcode value, or alternatively by utilizing a new type/length value (possibly combined with a new opcode value). A receiving device may then examine the fields of the frame to determine whether it should use priority-based pausing, and then examine other fields to determine which priority-levels to pause and for how long. This allows for improved efficiency in flow control at the MAC layer. Additionally, the tagged pause frames can be forwarded over multiple hops on Local Area Networks across a Metropolitan Area Network or Wide Area Network.
