  • Patent number: 6411190
Abstract: A current sensor 73 detects a current flowing through a first buss bar 11. When a current value detected by the current sensor 73 became equal to or greater than a threshold current value, a CPU 74 outputs a driving control signal to a driving circuit 77, and the driving circuit 77 operates an, ignitor 29 through a second substrate 65 and a terminal 50. Therefore, the ignitor 29 ignites, a second projection 41 is melted by heat of a heating agent 27, a compression spring 34 is expanded and a thermite case 26 jumps up. Thus, electrical connection between the thermite case 26 and the first and second buss bars 11, 19 is interrupted.

  • Patent number: 6385026
Abstract: A cap 14a and a resin case 14b accommodate a thermite case 26 and an ignition 29, the thermite case 26 comes into contact with a first buss bar 11a and a second buss bar 19a, and a heating agent 27 is charged into the thermite case 26. A retainer 45 which can be attached to and detached from the resin case 14b mounts a compression spring 39a in its compressed state. When the retainer 45 is mounted to the resin case 14b, the retainer 45 comes into contact with the thermite case 26. If the ignition 29 is ignited by a signal indicative of an abnormal condition sent from outside, the heating agent 27 is heated, the retainer 45 is melted by the heat, the compression spring 39a is stretched and the thermite case 26 jumps up. Therefore, the electrical connection between the thermite case 26 and the first buss bar 11a and the second buss bar 19a is interrupted.

  • Patent number: 6353684
Abstract: A video encoding apparatus is provided with a resolution converting section, an encoding section, and a transmitting section. The resolution converting section enlarges or reduces a binary picture which represents the shape of an object. The encoding section encodes a binary picture reduced by the resolution converting section. The reduction ratio used by the resolution converting section is encoded, and the transmitting section transmits this encoded reduction ratio along with encoded data on the binary picture. The amount of encoded data produced from the encoding section is controlled by changing the enlargement/reduction ratio used by the resolution converting section.

  • Publication number: 20020004336
Abstract: A hybrid connector and a process for assembling the hybrid connector are provided, by which the assmbling operation can be simplified and optical element modules can be stably positioned so that the workability of the assembling operation is improved and the optical loss is reduced. The hybrid connector 1 is assembled by a process including first to third assembly steps. In the first assembly step, each sleeve 7 is provisionally inserted halfway through a receiving cylinder 19 of a housing 2. In the second assembly step, optical element modules 8 and 9 are pressed so that the sleeve 7 is further inserted into the receiving cylinder 19 to reach the completely inserted state. Each projection 35 of the optical element modules 8 and 9 engages with a hollow portion 23 of the receiving cylinder 19. In the third assembly step, a shielding case 10 holds the optical element modules 8 and 9 and engages with the receiving cylinder 19 so as to fix a position of the optical element modules 8 and 9.

  • Publication number: 20020002003
Abstract: A hybrid connector is provided, by which the optical loss can be reduced. In the hybrid connector, a housing is provided integrally with receiving cylinders for holding sleeves. An end of the receiving cylinders, into which the corresponding sleeve is inserted, is provided with an engaging part, with which a shield case engages. The case has a spring property so that each optical element module received in the case can be pressed against the corresponding receiving cylinder and/or the corresponding sleeve when the case engages with the engaging parts.

  • Publication number: 20020001437
Abstract: The hybrid connector 1 is completed through first to third assembling steps. The first assembling step inserts sleeves 7, 7 into cylindrical holders 19, 19 until a half insertion state thereof. The second assembling step presses optical element modules 8, 9 against the sleeves 7, 7, which further inserts the sleeves 7, 7 into the cylindrical holders 19, 19, so that the sleeves 7, 7 are completely received in the cylindrical holders 19, 19. The second assembling step assembles simultaneously the sleeves 7, 7 and the optical element modules 8, 9 into the connector. This provides an effective assembling work thereof. The third assembling step causes a shield case 10 to hold the optical element modules 8, 9, while the shield case 10 engages with the cylindrical holders 19, 19.
